21 year old Lauryn Eagle, an Australian water ski champion, Fox8 TV presenter, Miss Teen Australia 2004, Miss Teen International 2005, model and Formula II Women's world water ski race champion in 2005, added an historic record to her trophy cabinet today.

Eagle temporarily retired from the sport after the death of her father Peter Eagle last year in a powerboating accident but returned to the sport early this year to win a place in the Australian World Championship team and to go on to record this historic performance today.

In a gutsy performance the 21 year old set a new Sydney to Newcastle record of one hour 42 minutes, breaking a record set by Queensland Ray Wheeler in 1979, of one hour 50 minutes.

She has now becpme the only person to ever complete the Sydney Newcastle to Sydney water ski run non stop.

Her total elapsed time was four hours and twenty seconds (4 hours 20 sec); the return leg turning into a grueling grind as she battled against 2.5 metre swell.
