I found Billy Ray Cyrus inspiring in the early 90's - such a talent. Ok, so he wasn't a band but he had a back up band.

There is only ONE band that all other bands will always be compared to ... the Beatles.
I'm not saying whether they are good or bad (not my favourite thats for sure) just that all other bands will always be compared to them, thus making them the All Time Greatest Music Band

If I had a time machine there would be many great moments in history visited. From a rock and roll perspective one of them would be the '86 Queen Wembley concert.

That song I can watch over and over and over.
Just amazing. Seeing a band playing real music and really enjoying it. And that guitar is absolutely singing!

Apparently Knofler wings those solos a little bit as well. The live ones are usually slightly different.

Lucky doggie

Only been to the one show back in 09, also saw Eddie in Adelaide on his solo tour a few years back.

Will make sure I catch two or three show's next time they are out, my 10 club membership should come in handy then!

I salute you Davage, Rellie, Hamsta, Docta and even Scotty. You've managed to divert this thread from being another "what's on my ****ty-rock commercial FM station today" snoozefest. Love it.

As for my contribution I'm still working on pinning down a genre let alone 1 group.

Doggie,
Did you hear my Pearl Jam short story?
A mate from North Avalon got an invite on a little surf trip to King Island. I think he was driving his van to Sydney Airport, boards packed, another buddy in passenger seat. They get directions to swing into Narrabeen (or similar) enroute, and pick up a chap named Eddie. They get going, he asks, "so what do you do Eddie?". Eddie says, "I play in a band". After a few more questions and a minutes or so more conversation, the penny drops... Eddie Vedder is in the car. Kelly Slater was already at King Island waiting. Just a bunch of mates catching up for some surf!!
