Where can I buy Strongbow or Mercury cider in 750ml bottles? I've been searching at bottle shops, both big and small. I've been told no one wants to buy it any more. I can get strongbow in stubbies but its not the same.

There are plenty of imported and boutique ciders in 500ml bottles but I think they are quite expensive for what you get. However they are quite pleasant to drink.

Its good to see ciders increasingly on tap at bars. A pleasant change to beer, though beer is still the best.

If you look under your skirt you might find a retailer...or...look for a decent cider likr 'Squire' or 'Bulmers'.

IMO Strongbow & Mercury are the introduction...maybe go an 'Old Moot' or 'Rosie' to kick it off?

Can you buy any of these ciders in 750ml bottles for around $5 a bottle?

I don't think cider should cost anymore than beer.

Gold!!

Go to Dans and grab a Henneys or an old rosie, both good ciders. Plenty of good Aussie ciders to choose from also (just happen to be drinking a Cheeky Rascal rite now)

PS don't get old rosie in a flagon, she's rocket fuel

Proper cider smells like d i c k cheese and should be dry as a nuns nasty. I'm trying to source some from Spain and some crafty stuff from the states at present.
This lolly water crap that is produced in Oz and from concentrate in Sweeden etc is fit only for girls and pillow biters.
Try biting into a real cider apple and you'll understand why crap Aussie cider tastes the way it does, thankfully there is a select few orchardists grafting over dessert trees to traditional varieties of late.
The cider revolution has only just begun.....

Ha Ha Love it!!

Smicko you have hit the nail on the head, just like beer you just cant beat good craft brewers (cider or beer).

Sailhack the scratter is done just need to finish off the press. Couple of hundred liters of Nuns Nasty d i c k cheese cider comming up (What a name. You mind if I pinch it Smiko, can see it on the label now!)

Smicko the to two meters tall ciders are a good drop, I like the pear cider. Was very sour like a good lambic beer. Will vary from batch to batch as stated on the label (check it out!).

They also do a dark ale made with apples (good drop also).

Have you tried any of the Henry of Harcourt ciders? Well worth a look, also made in the traditional way with proper cider apples.

Some good comments here, however I'm just not into a drink which requires an umbrella hanging out of it.
