lot of kids get run over in driveways..... so we should fence all driveways and put a 3 m tall boom gate at the end of it? And if you don't like it then do not have a car?????[}:)]
Just saying!
Pool fences wont stop kids if they want in. My son was found in the pool as it was being filled. He was only about three ish and he scaled the glass fence. I asked him to show me and he just jumped up got his hands on top and pulled himself over
He could swim from 2 though

HI POOL RELATIVE
All i can say is GET ONE youll love it , i believe in the following
1 Self chlorine unit salt pool
2 Ensure you put it in some where ( so it gets as much sun ) youll be suprised how early into summer youll be using it .Northern sun aspect vital Cold pools sux
3 under ground piping etc think about where it can / will run .warm piping equals warm pool....
4 back fill with materials that absorb hold heat around it
5 Get rid of any trees and **** leaf dropping plants.
6 You will be suprised how much they evaporate over summer .store a bit of water (tank) for top ups it will save you a bit
The modern day pumps use mininal power you put it on a self timer twice day i running it over winter on approx 4 hours day aprox 8 0ver summer even less.
Chemicals cost a bit .....water has a funny way of balancing you dont need as much as you think..........by in bulk.
Council inspects pool fences and gates every 2 years as part of your rates and charge a little bit (no sort cutting the fence business) what a job ?
Get a good creepy crawley... They become your best friend
Back flush once a month or so...............
to easy
Good luck with it ......charge any friends .... that want to swim with carton
i start swimming regulary night and day from octoberish and still find it ok right through till june
Oh yeah - don't let them set up the backflush into an existing soakwell.
Firstly, when you need to backflush in winter cos the pool is too full with rain, that soakwell is probably already full from your downpipes!
Even in summer it may not soak in goodly and as soon as you backflush it all overflows after 1minute.
Put it to dedicated soakwells or into the deep sewerage
I still cant work out if I need a pool fence. I live way out of suburbier, nearest neighbour 1km away and I have a dam 10m away from the pool. Seems stupid to fence it so I havent.
It will probably be pointed out as a defect when I go to sell it at any stage.
You MUST get a salt water chlorinator - saves on chemicals & easy on the eyes & skin.
Watermaid are the originators of the industry & made here in Sydney.
The best unit around durability, effectiveness & cost. (IMHO )
Can't see the bits to confirm but she is doing a good effort standing up taking a slash if that's the case.
If ya get a liner style pool.... Make sure the kids don't decide to play in there with the pogo stick, the rubber stoper is usually worn out by then and works as a great hole punch..
A mate of mine had his grandies do just that
Brilliant thanks everyone.
Doesn't matter what it is Seabreeze crew always has an answer
We had a pool in our last rental although it was ages ago it worked out well and we loved it.
We're going with a fibreglass pool - although i like Cassa's idea but i'm as handy as a chocolate teapot.
We've narrowed down our choice to one pool company and are now in a Mexican standoff as we negotiate price - this could take some time i think.
Mrs Rello and rello Jnr (and me if the truth be known) are very excited at the prospect. Just don't want the bull**** of uneven pool, broken house, and all the other stuff that can be associated with it.
Spoken with some mates today who recommended me to the people we had kinda decided on so feeling a tad calmer this evening.
Will post some pics when it happens
Just make sure you read all the fine print BEFORE you sign and query anything you don't understand or may seem ambiguous.
If its concrete and you ever need to remove it I can recommend the gang of Maoris that took ours out - cost me $6K.
(Couldn't get any machinery down the back.)
Worth every cent - the reclaimed land is worth $50,000.
On top of the wonderful bits of advice given already: make sure the contract or agreement takes into account putting the grass back exactly as it was. Sometimes heavy equipment creates big damage on the way to the pool, and they fix around the pool, but not the way to it.
Also: take into account on-going time and $$. We hear horror stories sometimes - "I wasted my weekend cleaning the pool", "my wife and the kids were supposed to help", that kinda stuff.
I sorta agree with the earlier assertion: pool owners do not look for a pool when they change homes. As if they knew the trouble they're getting into...
Best is to find a good friend who has a nice pool... preferably he should have a nice looking missus too for added-value...
cassa....is that a big ass pizza oven..or something else?
It's stunning and so is the pool
and that trampoline pool kiteboy dave...wow..I could see myself in one of those...
Better be careful a boat load of cue jumpers doesn't invite themselves over.
Very likely to happen.. according to some SB folks.
It's not our affluence (in some parts), lack of violence (in some parts) and tolerance (in some parts) they want - it's the free Pizzas - the b@st@rds!![}:)]
