Best beer adds

Just love those beer adds from the 80's.

I had a good belly laugh with this one..

That ad is actually a rip off due to a buy out.

In Queensland there were two beers. XXXX (Castlemain Perkins brewery) and Gold Top (Bulimba brewery). Both were almost equally popular but XXXX got the edge. Then Carlton bought out Gold Top and not much later closed it down.

This ad is probably the first "big, big beer" ad but it was followed by other versions of the same theme with John Mellion doing the dialogue.

Showing my age a bit here. Edit P.S. Gold Top was not about having a Gold cap on the bottle. Look at the label and you will see the gold spinning top which was a popular boy's toy back then like marbles.

A well cast spinning top could keep upright for a minute or more.

Always loved those Hahn Ads.

The Swan Lager ads were pretty good, telling a story of some bloke doing good throught the power of beer, eg:

Did he get where he got to through drinking beer or is it the other way round? Getting there and drinking beer?

If you get there to drink beer why not drink beer to get there?
