Maybe nothing in the last 2 years appeals to Cisco's musical taste.
This is definitely not from the last 2 yrs
Here is just a little bit of FUNK from yo' Average White Band which some o' y'all might 'member.
If anybody wants to educate their mind to truly beautiful music, listening to Beethoven's five piano concerti is a good place to start.
He was the "heavy metal music man" of his time.
I was lucky enough to be borne by a mother who played classical music radio and recordings in the house at most opportunities.
Probably few, if any, people who contribute to this forum who could relate to that or the music.
Like most things though, a taste is not usually enough to tell if you like a thing or not. You need to savour and swallow to know if it agrees with you or not.
So here are the five Beethoven Piano Concerti. Listen to them or not. Those that do will be the better for it.
These are particularly good recordings with full video.
Nice work Gestalt! Saw the Pains at heart at Webster hall in NY last year. but the real standout was Cymbals eat guitars.
Deadmau5 and Cypress Hill

^ ...you'll have to type a naughty word yourself to hear that one.
Another top selection from Ian K & Cisco.
Nuthin' like a bit of Floyd with a glass of red at the end of night out with ma goils!
Thank You Wineman. I am enjoying pale ale myself, which has caused a Momentary Lapse of Reason. Classic Floyd.
been trying to get to this since you posted but windfest stuff prevented it.
completely agree.
the good news is i think we are returning to the days of old. record companies have lost the initiative and bands are now via online means becoming there own bosses. the mp3 thing has had a big impact. but bands are returning to live work to get paid. no more of these overproduced studio albums thank goodness. just pure musical talent on display.
the other good news for me at least is the emerging trend to high quality downloads. you can now buy studio quality flac files and they sound truely amazing when you get the true studio quality ones at 24bit 96khz and up. dsd is also making some headway and that sounds almost exactly like tape to me.
tracking down new bands is an issue. i use online radio stations and a site called bandcamp. in more recent times i'm finding lots of exciting new stuff. it's out there for sure covering every genre but you just gotta keep looking.
i
m lucky i guess that i see live bands still, not every weekend like i used to when younger but i am at a gig every 6-8 weeks. sometimes more when i take the kids to free daytime gigs.
personally i reckon there is a renaissance going on in the music industry at the moment as the artist regain the control.
lucky you!!!!
i'll check out cymbals. cheers for the heads up.
