on the mark there - probbly the two best teams (for me) lots of toughsters and some real smooth movers on both sides ...... I was leaning toward the Felines a fair bit until Steve J got his knee wrapped around 360 degrees and back again - horrible to see that were!
And then the 'Pies surely can't keep playing so ordinarily can they? .... can they? ... and Malthouse is just so bleedin' cagey , I'm positive he was a velociraptor in a previous eon!

Absolutely, can't wait.

No crowds.

Best day of the year to go for a surf.

Grand Final has been played already and the Eagles won against the Blues, what is happening next Saturday is just some Vic footy match totally irrelevant to us in WA! Bring some wind on![}:)]

I dont know about that , i rekon if a genie told him mate you can go to the suns and earn 2 mil a year and never play finals again , or you can stay a geelong and win one more flag.! He would have stayed at geelong.

Why was Geelong Football Club called the "Cats" trivia question

Thouroughly deseved win in every respect.

The fact that the Cats were written off as old and slow, new coach won't cut it etc etc only serves to add to the win.

They also didn't play dirty - as Colliknobbles typically did/do - with cheap shots like knees in the back of a player on the deck (hello D!ck Maxwell and Sharrod Wellingham??).

Losing their key forward early, having their other key forward running around on a suspect knee, going kneck and kneck - then totally blowing Colliknobbles off the park in the last quarter.

Comprehensive.

Everything a great GF should be - especially Fat head Ed with a face like a cat's bum!

Champs triumphing over spoilt chumps.

Great game!

Heard that on a radio interview this week. Who would have thought that a mere newspaper cartoonist would have such an influence!!!

The day started well, got my first good sail in months, a few good ramps & overpowered for most - got home, kids dressed up in magpie colours, packed wife & kids in car & drove an hour to my dad's place to watch the game (his birthday, also a magpie supporter). Was looking forward to hearing Meatloaf (now unable to repair the damage to my eardrums!) The game started - Cats got the jump on the Pies, then we came back...only to be matched & bettered by an overall better team.

Well done Geelong, well deserved win. (Next year, haha.)

Great day and great game.

Surf / swim in the morning with wife and daughter catching some waves as well. Dog going nuts on the beach chasing the waves and seagulls and few girls on the beach starting early on their summer tan.

Watched the game with a couple of friends, drank way too many beers and ate pleaty of the 'healthy choice' bar snacks.

Then to top it all off my bet on Jimmy Bartel for the Norm Smith came good as well.

Well done Geelong... Maybe one day Freo can get there

Meat Loaf..... oh dear....

It's bad when you are telling yourself it was okay just because you feel so damn bad about not liking the legend because he sounds like my neighbour coughing up a slipper....

What a remarkable game though.... nail bitting to the last quarter... and then just pure brilliance.... never cheered so much for a team that wasn't mine. Go Cats!

Yeh same for me.. except that first Brisbane GF.. who were they playing again??

Nah the Cats were spectacular. Dry weather skills in a soaking game. More than a touch of class. Best GF since 2005/2006 IMO.

Set the PVR, had an uncrowded surf in the morning with the kids, started watching it around 2pm. Very happy camper by 5pm.

Er.. as has been documented i am not a betting man but saw 15:1 odds on Varcoe to kick 1st goal and thought that had to be a red hot chance.

Looking at the odds above - seems generous (or a Vic bookie) that the Saints are at lesser odds than the Eagles for the GF. Would put them the other way round in my books.. er.. if I were a betting man that is.

Nope, don't work in betting. I have just recently opened a small account with Tom Waterhouse though. The odds are always interesting. I occasionally lay a small bet when I think the odds are slightly in my favour. I bet very small... $5, $10, or $20, and not very often at all...

I'm an estimator, so very mathematic with work... I think it's just the a version of maths that I like... We also do "Probabilistic Estimates", so once the estimate is completed we run Project Workshops which addresses the probability of various events happening, and if they happen what is the most likely cost, minimum, and maximum cost.
