I just heard an interesting story at work and am wondering if any of you know anything about it.

A guy here was just telling a few of us that someone he knows was at Little Creatures the other day and they happened to see a croc nearby in the water.

When they questioned the staff about it, they were told that when the place (Little Creatures) used to be a croc farm, one of the crocs escaped and has been lurking ever since.

Supposedly knowledge about the croc is fairly common.

I'm pretty sure the story is BS, but you never know.

Anyone know anything about the mysterious croc?

I do remember the crocodile place there years ago.

Never heard of an escapee, surely being a salty it would have been in the news for nipping somebody by now? I call BS but would love to know either way cos it sounds like a ripper story :)

There is one in Freo pool that I hired for my 10 year old daughters birthday yesterday....

They had lotsa fun

As to the other one -- I've been living and working in Fremantle all my life and I reckon I would have heard if there was one around. Also I think the water temp would be way too cool for a croc to hang around.

That's what I reckon too, I can't find any online mention of it at all.
I'm pretty sure if it was true, or even a common known rumour, it'd have been mentioned or discussed on some news site, or forum somewhere.

I do remember the croc park.

What a ripper little yarn to tell while sittin out the back of L.C with a pint of pale.

Cant wait for the next sunday session there.
Total BS by the way.
Croc park would be 15 years ago and a croc would struggle in winter.

Sorry to rain on your parade, but the crocs survived the 'winter' that the dinosaurs didn't.

Crocs = sliders

I'm in Townsville, they are definately here (but not really a problem IMHO).
They are as far south as Gladstone, though I have heard of them being seen at Hervey Bay.

Croc in Freo?

It was open season on them for 150 years.

Now they are protected do you think they do not know that?

Wear the consequences of electing the (animal rights, tree hugging , political correct) greennies into undeserved power.

drop in the yatala pie shop one day , they used to photos on the wall of massive crocs being caught in the beenliegh river early to mid 1900's. So if they were there then f..k nose how far down the coast they roamed before being relocated or dying of lead poisening.
Have heard recent reports of them at the Burrem woodgate area.
We have had 3 sightings this week at the local , they are definately on the move up here.

as a leading croc specialist in the south eastern parts of w.a. with a phd in bss and lct i can give a honest opinion on the matter.

fact is i catch on a regular basis crocs down here, sure they are smaller than the larger brothers up north but none the less these nippers could take off a finger.

here is an example of one i captured and removed to a nature reserve only just the other day. we really need a community awareness program , the thought of the damage this little critter could of done to the hapless dude wearing his thongs mowing the lawn in its territory is unimaginable......

went crabbing up a creek on my sup a few months back,

found this cool spot in the mangroves to beach my board and went looking for crab holes

got some monsters

went back a few weeks later with a local black fella in his tinnie

showed him my cool spot to land

he cracks up laughing saying it's a croc slide

i had the weirdest feeling something was following me
