Was just in the car with the kids and Hoodoo Guru's "Tojo" was playing. I was explaining to my 5 y.o. that Santa never made it to Darwin because the cyclone destroyed the city and many people were killed. Being inquisitive he kept asking me why Santa couldn't have delivered the presents so I showed him this video - well worth watching just to reinforce how devastating it was.

Did the tour of the museum at Nightcliffe with the kids, pretty devastating.
On a more inappropriate note, check out 6:15. I remember asking my Grandmother why she didn't make golliwogs any more.

Pretty scary that cyclone.

And very unlucky. ~50kms either side of Darwin and it would have been fine.
