About to leave the modernity of Perth for first trip to Brisbane. Worried my phone charger won't be compatible with QLD power.
Have they upgraded from twelve volts yet?

Nah mate, they're using hamster wheels now, a bit of a step up from 12v.

be careful though Issa. With all our infrastructure cuts, WA is 240V but can only supply about 0.5A
your appliances may be used to it and get a bit of a shock first time

Don't wast money on a 12v charger, we're still using two cans and a piece of string, a very mobile system but you and the receiver have to follow each other around. If distance becomes impractical, we then use smoke, unless it's too windy then we're all sailing anyway

Best to get a solar charger. Queensland is the sunshine state.

But be aware that go to the first bank you see when you cross the border and change your WA money to Qld. money..... Don't' get stung on the exchange rate, some banks will rip you off.

PS. most banks will rip you off !!!!!

Be aware that Queensland drives on the left hand side of the road but in the opposite direction.

Here is the proposed new powerstation for QLD. Having just mastered construction of the wheel they now anticipate generator output to be at a modest 239.4 V.

Well that was interesting. Came and left in darkness, didn't get out of Fortitude Valley.

Didn't see one weather board building on stilts. Everything looked brand new. Who would have thought.

Nice weather.

Flood levy has obviously been well spent.
