I grizzle when the missus forces me to put up 2 strings of lights, which after getting them all working usually takes a couple of hours.

This guy must be insane.

Amazing xmas lights in perth. Check it.

This is from the email I received

Check out these christmas lights! Wouldn't you like to live next door to this guy ; )

Kym Illman from Messages on Hold has gone over the top with Christmas lighting on his Bishop Riley Way, Churclands home. It is draped in 26,500 light bulbs, run by 128 lighting channels, connected to 5km of electrical cable that all up took 220 hours to install. But the clincher is that it's choreographed to music. As you approach the street switch your car radio to 92.5fm and the Trans Siberian Orchestra starts belting out Wizards of Winter. It took 45 hours to produce the soundtrack synched up to the lights for the one song because every light has to be done individually.
If you can't make it check out a video of the choreographed display at

Yeah, saw it on the news.
Cost him over $12,000.

Mind you as the owner of Messages on Hold, I bet he had some lackeys do the actual wiring etc.

Still looks cool

Sorry, but I dont get it - there is something seriously missing in these peoples lives.

Chevy Chase parodied the whole idea of this idiocy - of who can outdo who in the Christmas light dept. - in his movie (Vacation series) - when Chevy puts that many lights on his house (X double adapters into light sockets), that when he actually turns it on, he not only threatens to shut down a whole array of nuclear reactors - but the initial flash incinerated small pets - and left a flash shadow on the wall of the last moments of his neighbours - bit like Pompeii.

What I could do with $12,000!!!

12,000 dollars is A LOT of new gear. Dammit, he could have given it to me=more gear and learn to windsurf.
Obvioulsy not addicted to anything fun in any way at all.

12g's for him is probably like tuck shop money?
Went and checked it out last night. He had his Audi parked in the driveway. The street was kaos. People everywhere and the spirit of CHRISTmas was present.
I say good on him. He is collecting donations for a childrens fund. My wife over heard him talking about how he helped with the installation of the lights as he wanted to put some of his labour of love into it.

Nanson St wembley has some ripper houses. Most of the street gets involved but one house is the bomb.

It's much more fun for me to take the squids to see these than spending weeks attempting a half arsed affort that looks like a bad Griswald family style cr@pola

Got something worse than christmas lights

Shifted my Christmas retaining last night

Over 1/2tonne of post mix concrete
27 reataining panals
28 retaining posts

Just as well i got this as I'd have nothing to do on the days (pubic holidays) when I don't have to go into work
