So that's why their tools are overpriced...so the boys in R&D can make useless toys and play with them all day!

Sorry for the negativity...had a bad experience with that crowd!

we used to have a water column with silicone jelly+fish, fluorescent light with a little air pump at the bottom.

It was around 180cm x 25cm diameter, look OK... used to turn it on when the Mrs and I were hi

This was some 10 years ago, and last week she said she wished she had it again... so I got her a Lava Lamp yesterday.

I personally LOVE and my preference is helicopters ...
especially when they are rigged up with cameras...

But I was impressed when I saw these on the ground ...
and the landing...that was hot....

Just like tonight will be with your new lava lamp

Can you fly an RC chopper?
My Hiboro STS Shuttle + Irvine + some fancy futaba radio didn't last very long

No Flysurfer....I can't

done a 100 hrs of real fly time...

But to fly RC is on my bucket list...just need a small stash of money
because I know how hard it is..and I think I would many many crashes

Before you go out and smash up your model helicopter for the umpteenth time, go and buy a "Great Planes Real FLight R.C. flight simulator" kit from your hobby shop.
They only cost about $300 (or used to) and you can plug it into your computer and use them for training on planes, helicopters, gliders, and airships.

The control unit is similar to a standard RC transmitter unit and the flight characteristics are quite realistic. Specially good for helicopters and once you get the hang of it and can hover facing any direction and fly around a few laps without crashing you will be ready to do a half decent job flying a model.
If you cant fly the simulator without crashing you will have no hope flying a model heli.
It will save you a bundle.

Those 10 to 15 grand jets are faaassst but would you believe that gliders can go faaassster. Dynamic soaring.

@pweedas: I had the sim + the cable that directly connected the radio with the PC... but the simulator didn't take in to account a "possible" assembly issue (Hirobo Shuttle was 1 of those u have to assemble from scratch)... and it was way easier than the real deal.

1st flight all I did was adjust the pitch slightly and it took off like a rocket then disintegrated and fell back to Earth.

2nd time after $800 in repairs and an "experts" check over, it took off then landed wonky and tore itself apart... even with the learner landing pods.

So who's up for a challenge?

PS: Flying a real chopper is easier than an RC.

Yes this is my fear ^^^^^^^^^....
but if you want it as much as I do to have a RC helicopter
then it will happen...I have some money put away for it already

There is only 2 things on my bucket list..and one is the RC helicopter..and the other is
ham radio...
At least my list is short and not to expensive

I had a radio, got used twice after reading a 1000 page manual and eventually went to a better home... I got a Yaesu VX-7R hand radio part exchange, which every time I need to use I can't cos it too is too damn complicated... people over here use channels but the radio uses frequencies and has all these tone and squawk stuff, sub bands... but it can rx/tx on all frequencies

If I was in the market for an RC chopper the "Heli-Max Axe 400 3D" would be it. RTF so u can take out all the assembly variables.
The radio can be used on other aircraft, it's 3D so u can do the fancy tricks and it's cheap @ A$500 all up.
