After much pleading my wife got a chicken coop for her 30th birthday. We picked up 2 chickens yesterday and they are settling in well. Isa Browns - orangey browney colour with white markings.
Friends of ours have 2 chooks "Princess Layer" and "Cluck Norris".
So we reckon they have set the bar pretty high for names. We're struggling to think of any good ones.
Anyone?
hmmm can't really help. None of my chickens have names; except for the rooster, he is called "Laksa"
I can, however, help with ideas for laying boxes.
My hens have other boxes available but only use these two...
Before I added the microve, things got a little crowded (4 in here)...
We have 2 chickens with quite boring names apparently.
Lilly - Black chicken
Goldie - Which is a red chicken
These were bought so we could have a constant supply of eggs, but they have become more pets than anything. Better trained than a bloody dog. They come to my wife when called by name. Heaven help me if i joke about cooking one up for dinner. I get the angry eyes and silent treatment from both my wife and daughter.
Maybe you could call one Chicken little
beryl, meryl, cheryl - all red heads
tyrel, oprah, shaniqua - black chicks
ditzy, mitzy, shazz - all dumb blondes
Mums chooks were called Mrs Brown, Mrs White, and Mrs Black (6 of each of them)
I tended to refer to them generically as "foxbait" as they proved to be a bit disposable.

Hen Solo
Attilla the hen
Lord Cluckington and Lady Egsalot
Julia Gillard - 'cos she can go cluck herself
They're going to know our chook names so no star wars and no norris variations.
My wife has come up with some more...
