My mate reckons Gnaraloo 07 was busier than a cat trying to bury a sh!t on a frozen pond. 30 guys on the water till sunset. He is prone to exaggeration (which I've told him about millions of times) so is he speaking kerap or is it as punishing as he says. I'm going in Oct so need to know whether to take my spear gun or not.

He failed to mention the 10 kiters on top of the 30 windsurfers.
I could name at least 10 people I know who are going in October.
Thats not including the Euros

Dude, you should be so lucky! I've seen it where there is 40 wind surfers out and half a dozen kites and that was a long while back before kiting at Gnaraloo became popular. I'd expect a minimum dozen kiters out on top of that now.

When the swells small (waist to head high), it gets crazy packed. Lots of shouting at each other. When it's up over mast high, the crowd thins substatially. Thank god!

The wise go up early (late August early Sept) and surf when it aint windy enough and when the odd windy day does come in, you'll have it amongst two or three others. Sweeeeeet! Take up spearfishing as well and you'll never be bored.

Enjoy Pitt Street!

Good winds,

You guys should have tried to get into Gnaraloo in the late seventies and early eighties when the mad old pom owned the station, he hated everyone. My mate Howie went to school with the station manager, and every time the owner left for an extended stay, Howie would get a call and of we'd go. Ha, you don't know how lucky you have it, you can go any time. Try the east coast for crowds.

Arrived up here yesterday, it's packed already. It's still only early and the line ups thick. You would be better off going to one of many other spots to the south, avoid crowding.

Yeah sure, like that guy claiming there was a christian festival at his favourite spot to keep people away, a very good way to avoid crowds though..............
Or it might just be true?

I just wish everyone would stop posting photo's and such whilst there is still a few people in the world that haven't heard of the place.
The place can't handle crowds and one or two kooks in the line up stuffs it up for everyone.

as if no 1 hasnt heard of the place? there r write ups all over the web and magazines. but i also reckon that ppl who have these places on their profiles r kooks. they obviously dont surf? and why ask questions bout these places? photos r ok if the name of the place isnt posted. some photos were posted last yr from a wave on an island off the mid west coast. thats cool 2 share the stoke but the name of the place was included. so whats the difference with posting the sth west wave, the place starting with L, the industrial town in the mid west or god forbid the big G?
cheers

Isn't there wind graph's for most of the popular windsurfing spot's? How can that make these spot's stay secret?
