The bikes were going full out... my R1 wouldn't go over 280kmh and I would have to tuck myself in.

You're kidding right? Even if there is only a slim chance of something going wrong (i'd call that driving way higher than slim), why the f*ck do those wankers have the right to put innocent lives at risk for their own pissing contest. If he had clipped a car or spun out people would have almost certainly died.

Go talk to people who have lost family to idiots like that and call them a pessimist.

I think it's a great video to post. Regardless of why you posted the video it does create discussion.

I showed a few guys at work.

Whilst I believe speed limits in this country are far too low ( on certain roads ) the above driving was completely moronic, there is a time and a place and a crowded auto strada is not it.
Not only was he erratic he was on numerous occasions waaaay to close to the bikes even of they are willing participants.

It's one thing to bomb along at 200kph + in the far left lane slowdown when required almost all people in Europe will get out of your way pretty quickly without any hesitation it's something else to weave through traffic like he did..... a moron

FFS Fly, cant you see that evrything that the bikes and car did was dangerous? Would have taken very little at that speed for it to all go wrong!!

Remember that guy in the States getting chased by that big gang of stunter ****s?

I wonder if it stemmed from them doing some stupid ** and ending up under his wheels?

That would really, really suck

Doggy... when I came back from living in Europe, I racked up +$3k in fines in my first month, lost my license... and I thought I was driving super slow.
I'm not condoning driving fast I'm just saying that speed doesn't kill, stupidity + deceleration kills.

Last year I was with a friend in Dubai... he was driving an M5 @ +200km/h while texting! ... to him it was normal (I was sh!ting myself).
Driving in the UK, people were up my ass trying to get me out of their way.

Normal thinking: speed rarely kills.
Pessimistic thinking: he's going to spin out and kill everyone.

A pro driving on the edge is no different to a 17 year old driving on the edge. Either way there is no wiggle room.

Edit. I just watched Craig's crash compilation link. Two things I got out of that were the sheer number of crashes where the bike is to blame because of poor attitude and lack of attention, and the number of inept riders that think 'dropping their bike' is a viable option in a crash. News flash, brakes and tyres are better at stopping a bike than fairings and foot pegs grinding along the road will ever be.

And I never get sick of watching the journalist drop the demo bike off a sea wall.

Problem is that he might be a pro but what about all the othe road users who might not be expecting a car traveling at high speed? Thats when things get dangerous. Pro's crash all the time as well.

I'm all for enjoying hi po cars but i've learnt its all about time and place. Clearly american power figures for the supra but its got boobs so who cares!

What if the guy was driving a postie bike and he bumped into a guy on a pushbike?
Would you feel differently about it?
Of course he would have to have a gopro recording it for youtube, cos that makes acting like a knob acceptable....
