Last family outing to the Savannas...

is that a joke? really is it?

As disturbing as it may seem when you get the facts it makes sense.
There are many places in Africa where certain animal species are overpopulated and have become a nuisance for villagers and farmers.
The villagers will kill the animals anyways but it has been worked out to bring in wealthy westerners for a hunt.
They pay a lot of money which benefits the village as a whole and the entire animal is harvested and nothing is wasted.
Personally It's not for me.

Truck-stop. Kakinada, India 2011. Take a wild guess what happened here.........

Looks like the back of that truck has been blown out and the glass in the other buses has also been shattered. My guess is a massive explosion

On the mney there Doggie.
Some dude was welding up a hole in the tanker. We drove past and could'nt believe what we were seeing. Got a K down the road and........BOOM!!
The truck was propelled 100 metres and ended up on top of a make-shift shop.
The blast took out about 20 parked motorcycles and a few other trucks. The 'welder' didn't make it but, amazingly, he was the only casualty.
India.....great place but, totally effing bonkers!! Most friends don't believe the stuff I tell them about the place.........gotta see it to believe it.

^^^ As hard as it is to see, Beaglebuddy is right.

I like to shoot animals with a Canon. However, that sort of shooting and tourism has only small returns for the local communities and the conservation efforts of the animals and their habitat. People who want to make pictures simply do not pay the sums that hunters pay.

The parks can only sustain so much wildlife, and some have interupted the natural migratory habits of the large hirds.
