AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I'm over it....officially...I'm done..dusted!!!!
I open the hatches
I close the hatches
(I bloody well turn the hatches over).
And still I get the timing wrong. Looks good to go for a quick dash to the shower...inclemency is not dooming...I leave the hatches open...gggrrrr....I come back and YET AGAIN, I have a wet bunk. I am incontinent before my time!!!!!! The quandary...sleep in the wet spot or change the sheets? And I thought I'd left all that behind when I entered upon this single life??!!
I grew mushrooms ....no shnit....in my boat from all the moisture...pretty little orange golden beauties that one would expect to find on the forest floor, not in a boat!! One of life's mysteries.
My girls play cello and violin through school. Itsy bitsy problem with such sensitive instruments is that they don't like temperature variations or humidity so for fear of becoming horribly out of tune or snapping a string, so, whilst the girls and I have sweltered in the body of the boat, 'Chelsea' and 'Veronica' have languished in their 24-hour a day climate-controlled aft cabin. Yes, I DO believe I have gone nuts!!!!
Have I seen everything there is to see on a boat now...not bloody likely...just a little morsel of life aboard during a rainy season.
Would I have it any other way? No! My only lament is that autumnal touch of southeast in the air every morning intuitively makes me want to cast my lines and head north for the cruising season. Why lament? It is something the girls and I cannot have...this year at least. School, uni, 'getting ahead'.
Been mobs of rain here in Cairns, here's a photo of the Barron Falls today. The Barron River was a lot higher yesterday but the road up the range was blocked. And yep, sick of the rain also.
its not that bad,its not that great. i dont have to make up stupid excuses of why i have not done anything. i like the rain
Thanks Gizmo...bloody brilliant...!!
Forgot to mention my ant infestation....this will either help bring the ants out of the cabin or encourage more onto the boat!!
The ants have brought my neighbour unhinged...I see him in his pursuit of his futile attempts to quell the march stomping on them...day and night...but still they come!!
Oh yes, it's been a long wet season hehehe
Sure you still want to come and stay Pup?? Hehehehe
Fab Wednesday to all.....now go and do something constructive!!!!!
Trace
I,m here, workin my ass off Trace ,get some safeway ant grud and something spray and kil the little buggers. As for the hatches grab some cheap blue tarps from super crap and tie em over the tops to your lifelines. Alternatively buy a new cat.

How long you gunna be on the wet side of the island for Pup. Would like to catch up with you, Trace, Weiry and some others. I,m workin and Golfin' this weekend (if the rain don,t close the course that is ) but the following weekend or nights during the week am mostly free.
Good stuff. Won,t be hard to get Weirsy, just dangle the carrot called Bundy and he,ll come a runnin'.Will give you a bell on the weekend
Looking forward to hooking up with you, lads. The Pup arrives tomorrow night and, thus far, we haven't anything planned. I have uni commitments during the day Monday and Tuesdays.
Would love to get out on the boat for a few days...any chance of cruising in company with us, Ken? I guess at this stage, it's all up to this bloody rain that, incidentally, have I mentioned I am sick of.
Ciao for now
