Just checking as the last week or so i had issues loading from the Active topic button. Often it just loads up with a blank white screen under the header and i then have to load via the indervidual forum headings

I'm hoping its not just me

Hmmm. Funny (or ironic) thing is that it was recently "fixed".

Shall investigate...

^^^^^That's gold Galah.
Can anybody tell me what $1595 (in 1982) was worth compared to today - I'm guessing about 30K.

In 1982 I reckon that $595 was about 2.5-3 weeks wages to a Mechanic, by 1985 I was on $15k a year in Perth, and my house (fibro 3x1 on 1000sqm block) in Dianella cost us $38,000. We could have gone outer suburbs like Whitfords and got a 4x2 brick and tile for less..

We definately could not afford a computor nor would we have had a use for one, we had TV!!

Nearly 5 weeks of the average wage , nowadays a couple of days pay can get you a decent laptop.

1982
The estimate of average weekly ordinary time earnings
for full-time adults and the respective quarterly changes
are shown below:
Average Change from
Full-time weekly ordinary previous
adults time earnings (S) quarter (%)
Males $338.80 4.4
Females $270.60 3.5
Persons $317.60 4.1

2012
Full-time adult ordinary time earnings $1 352.70

Hey I owned one of those... tape drive and all!

How good were the games:

RBA reckons $1582 in 1981 is equivalent to $5442 in 2011 (see www.rba.gov.au/calculator/annualDecimal.html)

I bet the $1582 price tag is the US pricing, not local so the Australian crowd would have been paying more.

On the plus side, apparently $1 AUD was worth $1.12 to $1.18 USD - and we though our exchange rate was strong now

Back on topic, I think the issue is related to the way that later versions of browsers (at least on a mac) open up all your old windows whenever you open the program.

So let's say I'm browsing seabreeze, skip to another tab, do some more browsing, then I close Firefox.

Next time I open Firefox it will open the hidden seabreeze window and conveniently hide it for me.

I then open seabreeze active topics in a new window, and the new code on seabreeze shows me all the topics that have been posted since the last time that active topics was opened, which was 5 seconds ago... which is none.

Yes it's annoying for me as well... Bring back the old system!
