..different things to different people. This is an anuall occurance

around this time of year in the Gulf country around Burketown.

reckon by the look of that pic, the kitesurf instructor is taking them out in too much wind!

That would be OK if you just want to park in front of it but if you really want to surf it then.......

Back in 2005 a couple of us were discussing the prospects after watching a hangy do it... We parked the idea cos we figured we wouldn't have the speed to run it.

Last year a group "Bound for glory project" started to plan.

I thought the same thing, they done well.
I've spoken to some hangies who have flown there and some have been overtaken by it and copped huge turbulence coming down behind it. One guy last weekend was saying how his buddy got whited out when he couldn't keep up with it and there was no blue sky behind it. Would be pretty scary getting knocked around and not knowing which way is up.
