Anyone got any old skateboards lying around ?
I am looking for anything early 80's to mid 90's.. mainly Powell, Vision, Santa Cruz, Variflex or Reflex.
The old school fish tail shaped stuff- happy to pay cash for the right stuff, pm me if ya interested.
Ive got my surfin sam (short model) rubber wheels.jarrah deck .
Im sure it somewhere at mums.
course thats mid 70'sback when skateboards went in straight lines, not like the girlie things you kids ride these days[}:)]
now its all about the GRAFIX and the clothes
i have got a pure sims juice that i still ride when i can get the kids off it i paid $90 for it 30 years ago and it still is the best board i have ever riden
I have no idea what mine is, if anything...
But MINE is the bee's knees of all GRAPHIX! haha stylin bruh.. j/k
But its the sk8board I had since I was 4.
I've just mounted it on my wall instead
I'm so girly hey... lol
Since I didnt understand a word of what you all said, you must all be really young or I must be really old.I'm assuming all words are types of wheels ,trucks ,and boards. I do remember seeing a board one day that had POLYURATHANE wheels and a plastic deck. they performed like nothing we had ever seen before.
It was a good day to hang up the board and go sailing instead.
There are a whole heap of late twenties to early thirties crew in Adelaide getting back on their boards and rolling. I have a fair few but was after specifically some of the Powell decks that I had then lost as a kid...
Tony Hawk - Iron Cross and Claw
Per Welinder - Nordic Skull
Lance Mountain - Family Crest
Mike Mcgill- the skull and snake in my avatar
I love my kiting but it is so weather dependant and can be quite frustrating. I can go to my local park which has a sweet bowl lit up all night and go for a skate anytime it's not raining...
I have some Cockroach wheels (originals) on a reissue hybrid style Powell Rodriguez with Jay Adams trucks that I ride most at the moment.
At last...
The Roscopp sticker was a freebie and went on as the Facelifts was virtually a copy of the RR deck (minus the little 'hips' that RR had) and made in the Santa Cruz factory.
The Mike Smith sticker is waaaayyyy old school for any old codgers that remember Madrid sk8brds? Probably from around 80'-ish?
Anybody got an old Hosoi boards? Man, I soooo wanted one of those.
Ive got an old OZI SKATE that i bought in 85. my 5 year old son has covered it in stickers and bombs around on it. he generally leaves it out on he grass under the sprinklers so its a bit rough.
Gotta love those Ozi sk8s!
My ownership went like this:
Surfer sam in 78'/79'? (long model)
2nd hand fibreglass board with rock like wheels and yankee flag colours 81'
2x cheapo Kmart plastic boards with hell wide small plastic wheels 84'
Re-hashed the Surfer sam after the placky boards fell apart 84'
2nd hand Ozi skate 85' (Flatish model)
2nd hand Ozi Concave late 85'. Loved that board - it used to take big boosts and acid drops in it's stride and super wide trucks. Busted it clean in half after one too many fire hydrant boosts in Camberwell..
Back to the Surfer sam on downhill slalom runs just cause it was so kn horrible it made for fun (and mega bitumen burns)
Cleanskin (no-namo) really nice shaped deck from Qld. Nice shape but weak as fk - lasted me less than an hour before snapping and returning to Surf, ski n skate (Melb) for a refund and then..
Gotcha Facelifts- late 86'. Rode that board for 2 1/2 years before getting seduced by a driver's licence (in Perth by that stage) and sick of having to do a runner every time a bunch of numbnutz boguns felt like some fun in Kenwick.. Got heaps more mileage out of the board in my mid 20s using it for transport cause I was too broke for fuel (fuel was devoted to searching for waves in my old 3-on-da-tree XY Falcon). Also heaps of sk8ee usage working at the Leederville Hotel. Had a 60% dowhill run to and from work to home a km away. Sure was fun cruisin home and riding steep driveways like wave faces as the sun was starting to come up. Thought I was a bit dodgy riding a sk8ee pissed (erm.. and the rest) until I was skating home one morning - after 6am staffies at the Hippy Club - and saw a pissed bloke riding on the lines (sort of) up the middle of Oxford St on a pushy - no hands, both devoted to eating a kebab!!! Now that is style..
i have a robscot board, looks old i picked it up at the dump for two bucks dunno wether its worth much
