My daughter used to scream with delight when we blew bubbles.
Corn syrup is the key eh?? Have a ball and take some pics.
Is there an Aussie version of corn syrup?
Yeah it is called corn syrup and is in the supermarket or health food store.
Mega ironic that something that is 99% sugar is easier to find at health food stores....
I am going to try this tomorrow, should get the kids going
Photos please Cassa...
I suggest searching reddit, I read the original thread when that vid was posted and they all said that recipe was useless. Can't remember the correct one sorry
I though the main ingredient was glycerine.
Nah, it's nitroglycerine. Works much better!

Boom boom!! ;)
If you dump the liquid from a hi-lighter pen, it will make the bubbles glow under a black light....
If you use tonic water instead of water, it will make the bubbles glow blue under a black light....
but this means you would have to install and outdoor blacklight or be prepared to clean up a sticky glowing mess in your house...
^^^ All I heard was having to clean up a sticky mess in your house that glows under a blacklight...
were you blowing bubbles at the time?

After the fifth time he was.
Sorry I can't wait till you guys are finished before posting this
6 cups of water
1/8 cup (2 tablespoons) of dish soap
1-1.5 teaspoons of glycerin
6 cups (and change) of solution ought to be plenty to do a few test bubbles, and maybe enough for all your bubbling needs.
For metric folks, it's probably easiest to use a scale. Glycerin is about 25% heavier than water, and dish soap about 5-10% lighter, so the ratio is something like 250:5:1. With 5g as the base unit to get back up above a liter of output, that gives us:
1.25 kg (or l) of water
25g of dish soap
5g of glycerin

it doesn't have to be that difficult dave.
a cup = 250ml. a teaspoon = 5ml.
btw, us metric folk spell it 'litre'
Most supermarkets sell premixed bubble mix that is guaranteed to work and probably less toxic, my daughter has spent hours on our balcony in a nice sea breeze sending basket ball sized bubbles all over the neighborhood.
Got to watch out for the sticky mess though...

Duh, thought it was fairly clear I cut n pasted all that from the yank thread. I even linked to exact comment in the yank thread I cut n pasted the entire paragraph from.
All I've done is call her is call out the useless recipe at the top, then find the right one, and I've had no love for it. I'm taking my bat n ball and going home <sniff>

First, the right washing liquid makes a huge difference.
What are you using to make the bubbles? Not an ordinary bubble blower, I hope. You need to get two thick pieces, of dowel, about 1cm thick and 30 cm long, then make a loop of absorbent rope about 1m in diameter, and attach it to the two pieces of dowel. Then bring the dowels together, dip the rope ring in the liquid, lift it out and separate the dowels to make a big loop, and then 'sweep' the loop of rope around to draw out a big bubble. Then bring the ends of the dowel together to close the bubble. Atmospheric conditions also make a significant difference for really large bubbles. Early in the morning on a humid day works best, with little to no breeze.
Here's the idea. I like to stand with a light breeze behind me and just lift the sticks in the air and walk backwards slowly.
