Delete this thread and chuck this in the other Mars thread. Its relevant as the other video in the other thread thinks its up to the American government through NASA to get to Mars. While clearly the time of government space agencies having a monopoly on space travel is passing.

As soon as there is money to be made on Mars, humans will go there.

in such case I wonder what currency will be accepted on Mars.
Is it going to be still Greenbuck ? Euro ? maybe Bitcoin ?
or some Asian papers...
I don't recommend using Gold... to heavy to carry coins to the Mars.

Well if this gets up then it will be Euros. However as is said what is a Euro? We all know a dollar means IOU from the government. However a Euro may be best described as Who owes you?

So much stuff to organize from scratch once we have got there ...
Red or Green party ?
Everybody to work or some could just live straight from interest ?
Democracy or we need new King of the planet ?
Low taxes or even tax heaven ?
Could we still send a waste and garbage back to Earth ?
Name for first settlement ? New ...what ? Sydney ? Red Coast ?
Definitely we would not like newborn to carry in birth certificate something like: Landing Module, second section..
What about gun low ? Still second amendment binding ?
Where do you turn for Mekha just in case you need to?

I hope space is an area that is free from government interference. If space farers want guns, drugs or whatever, they can have it. There will be no social welfare. No taxation. No standing armies. No government protected commerical banks. No central banks.

It will be free enterprise up there. Individuals and groups of individuals providing goods and services others need.

Why should any terrestial government, including the UN have any authority over space?

Anarchic capitalism. Live and let live. Individual rights in line with recognised laws protecting life and property.

I understand that
guns are needed just in case locals Martians lunch attack
as for agriculture hemp seems to be the most promising
unless obviously you prefer something more drinkable and yest should bubble nicely

I just finished watching excellent video from int. space station and wonder how they been able to smuggle AK-47 there just in case the order come from the Earth to take control
or karate will be more efficient, just for safety I would strictly forbid metal cutlery and they could use plastic only

If 3 out of the 4 die....how will the last survivor cremate himself when if he dies..

I really doubt this project will go ahead....

Big brother on mars could get really messy.

Is your ex a breeder? If so she will be an asset for the new colony. Plus its unlikely child support applies to people living on another planet.

The low gravity may help my back...
What internet speed would I get?
Will I be encouraged to procreate? ... you know to colonize the planet.
Do you have images of my potential procreation mates?

Wait one f'ing minute buddy... it's average temp is −55 °C... of course I don't want to freeze my balls off on Mars.

As if Mars needs guitars. Baggage limits will apply, will you settle for a ukulele?

I have majority care of my kids and currently (after lengthy battles) receive a modest amount of child support. I'd gladly forgo the child support in exchange for no more 'wild cards' from her...
I'm sure she would be a great asset to the colony...
