Is it worth floating out at Currumbin you reckon, what's apparent wind speed/angle when you catch a wave? I guess not because nobody does it

I just want to try some small cross-off, damn it.

Somtimes.
Mostly on a Friday afternoon in late summer, actually.
Ollie does it a bit.
There is a nice channel to bob out through. Dodging surfers when you have no power and the swell dragging your fin around can be a hassle, but otherwise it's pretty safe on a run-in tide. Run out is less secure.
It's always nice in the water though on a southerly. Clean and green !!
