Rec'd on email and interesting.......

As you are aware Australians will be voting in the Federal election on 21 August.

With the Labor Government on the nose; political analysts expect the Greens to increase their vote significantly, especially in the Senate. A swing of just a few percent would see the Greens with as many as 8 Senate seats thus handing them the balance of power a disastrous situation for all Australians but especially so for those of us involved in the shooting and fishing sports.

So please, help us stop the Greens from gaining control of the Senate.

We need your help in two key ways. Firstly we need your vote. The Shooters and Fishers Party are running 2 Senate candidates in the following States:

New South Wales: Jim Muirhead and Al McGlashan

Victoria: Peter Kelly and Alex Krstic

Queensland: Andrew Peter and Chris Huggett

Western Australia: Paul Peake and Christine Peake

Tasmania: Ray Williams and Jeff Blackmore

Northern Territory: Phillip Hoare and Matt Graham

Secondly we need your help in passing on our message #65533; please pass on this message to your family and friends whether or not they are shooters or fishers. Stopping the Greens is important for all Australians.

The attached "anti-Greens" Pamphlet and Poster show how much a threat the Greens really are. We are asking supporters to help us 'spread the word' via their email networks and 'word of mouth' at club meetings, at the range and amongst family, friends and work colleagues.

If you haven't visited the Shooters and Fishers Party website yet, please have a look at: http://www.shootersandfishers.org.au/ where there's several video clips outlining our aims.

Click on the 'You Have 2 Votes', 'Why Get Political' and 'How You Can Help' tabs and then click onto the video 'play' button in the middle of the screen.

Thanks for your support.

Regards

**** that I'm voting for the Secular party.

They stand for:

* A woman's right to choose an abortion
* Voluntary euthanasia
* The right to die
* Embryonic stem cell research
* Same-sex marriage

We stand against:

* Censorship
* Religious indoctrination of minors
* Counter-productive "anti-terror" restrictions on civil liberties

Secular party also say they want to seperate Church and State. i.e. Religions would no longer be tax emept. That would bring in HEAPS of extra tax.

That being said, there is no way they're going to be elected, at least not in my lifetime. But it can't hurt to try.

As far as I see it, the only credible person with any popularity is Kerry O'Brien from the 7:30 Report. Wish I could vote for him.
Who better to represent Australia when meeting with the president of the USA and what would he be able to extract, perhaps an apology ala KRudd style for the people of the middle east.

Voting for them?? By half way through your post you sounded like you'd joined the party!!

They do sound like decent things to stand for and against.

Vote Greens if you want to vote for a party honest enough to disclose their intentions.

Same if you give a sh!t about where we are heading globally and locally, not just about a shiny new Plasma/false invasion prophecies/jacuzzi/boobjob for the trophy wife.

I don't agree with all their policies (honestly who does agree withh 100% of their preferred party's posi??) but I admire them, their integrity (er.. not counting the Freo Greens member) and most importantly their vision beyond a self-serving 3-4 yr term.

Vote Greens to actually make a positive differance - AND smarten up the lazy 2 party duopoly.

BTW - Secular party are interesting too but too new (IMO) to have the runs on the board and confidence in longevity.

Each to theirs whatever you go for.

LOL

The fishes will be tight with the economy, the ducks do what ducks do and duck to avoid getting their heads shot off (would like to see their Afghanistan policy ).

Makes more sense than the 'Shoot the sh!t outta it and fish the fkrs till me esky is full' party - with Charlton Heston and Rex (the) Hunt wannabes - to me Wal.

I do like the SnF party's Rockband for underprivileged policy tho..

GF sorry but the greens are as usefull as tits on a bull . Bob Brown is a nothing pollie and the greens don't do squat . My card will be going in blank this year as there is no-one worth voting for and no matter what way we go it will be ****ed either way .

I can understand how you feel, dusta but nothing will change doing it your way. At least if you vote for an independent or for the Greens, you increase their voice for next time around. Which means they stand a better chance of becoming more relevant.

If nothing else, at least it'll help make the majors pay a bit more attention.

Why not use the preferential voting system to your voice your concerns but to make sure the main party you dislike the most is placed last? Also if you are in a safe Labor seat, consider putting the Labor candidate last. If you are in a safe Liberal/National consider placing the Lib/Nat candidate last.

It would be a great result if the main bigwigs of both major parties lost their seat like Howard did last election. It would show politicians they cannot take anyone for granted and they have to represent the electors in their electorate if they want to keep their job.

Its a bit of a joke that getting preselected for a safe seat is basically a job for life and someone can have a career in politics stretching for all of their student and working life, ie getting involved in student politics, becoming a party flunky, union staffer or MP assistant/researcher and then riding roughshod over local branches to get parachuted into a safe electorate to set you up for the rest of your life. Half the time they don't even live in the electorate they represent.

Meanwhile they use your money to tell you what an awesome job they are doing.

She probably likes yours too.

Hey Dusta,

it's sad you feel that way but can't say I blame ya.

I have pretty much voted Green since their inception. Like I said I don't agree with everything they are on about (although mostly I do). I reckon Bob Brown would have made both Mr Rabbit and Julia Goolia look like prize turkeys had he been allowed a voice in the mass debate.

Without a 3rd (or even 4th) strong party we are fkd by the tweedle dee and tweedle dumb choices and the two majors will do fk all but try to be more like each other and straddle the fence. Just like they did thru most of the 90s and 00s.

Democracy is about choice. Excercise yours and look beyond the tweedle dee and tweedle dumb choices.

How cum no-one's banging on about the sex party?

If they can gaurantee me 20% more rumpy pumpy and have a 'say no to abstinence policy' then I will lay my vote on em. I'm sure there are many more double entrendres I could unzip but I have run out of stamina and need a ciggy.

With the Labor Government on the nose; political analysts expect the Greens to increase their vote significantly, especially in the Senate. A swing of just a few percent would see the Greens with as many as 8 Senate seats thus handing them the balance of power and a disastrous refreshingly advantageous situation for all Australians but especially so for those of us involved in the shooting and fishing sports. Coz there will be fish and things to shoot on the revived sea and land - and sustainably managed.

So please, help thank us stop for the Greens from and gaining control of the Senate.
