Next Saturday is the GPS Head Of The River final competition to be held at Lake Kawana, Sunshine Coast.

Nudgee College is odds on favourite to win it this year, an unprecedented third time in a row (pardon the pun).

My son is a boarder and a rower at Nudgee College in the year 11 second 8. His crew has performed consistently well throughout the season and he is the guy in the middle at 2:20 in the below inspiring video.

I am so proud of him and he just got the Principal's Maths Award this week too.

Agree it's a great sport - A bit like cycling on the water. daughter #1 is in year 9 this year & starting in a few weeks. Looks like early starts for me for a bit. And I've never rowed!

Good on him for sticking at it. Good luck for HoR. Have a good day

I do admire the discipline and training. It is so ruthless. It is a hell of a commitment for children and parents. I don't miss the early morning starts - neither do my lads.

Perth HoR (@ Challenge Lakes) - I think in 2 weeks time?
