I got a similar fine and court appearance when i was 19.

I don't usually drive that fast but was d!cked around by a bike shop who said "wait for our call - when the bike is ready to pick up we will call." Needed my wheels for work and had to return dad's borrowed car that day.
Called the shop at 12.45 who said "Oh yeh - it's been ready for hours - we close in 10 minutes, be here or it will be locked up for 3 days" [}:)] Grrr!!!

Whatever the reason - I was driving stupidly. Got the ticket - went to Freo court to cop my deserts.

The judge was an absolute condecending w@nker to most of the punters. In fairness half of them rocked in in mull leaf t-shirts and thongs so were begging for the treatment, but still he was the sort that got a chubby from abusing his position.
I wore a shirt and tie, took out earings and made the effort to look respectable.

After seeing the judge rip the sh!tter out of a similarly dressed dude, who brought a lawyer (who didn't get a word in for his +$400 fee) I was visibly sh!t scared.

Judge could see my remorse and regret (maybe even a sense of stubborn understains) I offered no excuses and stated I was embarrassed and I got the minumum fine and points.

Lost my licence anyway as it was my final points but accepted that i deserved it - rather than trying to squirm out of it.

Yes - you are dumb ok. Cop it sweet and learn from it.. or shirk it, and keep being a dumb lethal weapon on public roads.

Go to court, cop it sweet, lose your license.

Feeling sorry for yourself ? , head to your local hospital, have a look around.

DONE.

Absolutely no sympathy. By your own admission the reason you were speeding was because you thought there was no cameras rather than you shouldn't have been doing it. Could have been an unmarked car and the same outcome.

Simple solution to the problem, don't ****ing speed! Its really not that hard to understand. Haven't lost a point off my license in the 6 years since I arrived in Aus. I manage to get to all my meetings on time and if I don't, hell, its only 5 minutes so who cares.

Lucky you didn't have an accident dude, also assuming it wasn't the first time you tested your new turbo. But I get it, you thought you were driving a super car..

110 in a 70 zone is inconsiderate and stupid, I make a point of not helping inconsiderate and stupid people...

There's a guy, about 21, in a falcon ute, that lives around the corner from me somewhere. I live in quiet suburbia. He does about ...i don't know actually, but it's probably 80+ down our 50k street. There are very often kids on bikes, joggers, pets crossing the street.

Suggestions?

And how has that got any relevance to speeding on shared roads? Peter Brock comes to mind.

That was a closed road for the rally.

I'd find out where he lives, write an anonymous (and polite) note and drop it in his mail box. Just ask him nicely if he wouldn't mind slowing down. Then also say, if he doesn't, that you will record footage (or already have it ) and pass it onto the police.

FYI Flysurfer: r6 was highly moded as the TLR. As for an R1 not doing 300 and it was moded - you don't know how to ride. or know the facts.
I have witnesseses an r1 on the back wheel at 220km and your saying they wont reach 300 pffff.... whatever.....

Show me the evidence.
I realise it may have seemed 309kmh to you.

My '03 R1 had full yoshi + dyno... if you could max out (12500) the R1 in 6th, then you'd just be going 300kmh by the speedo... GPS 10-30kmh less.
220kmh wheelie... let me guess your mum was on the back

What was your R6 doing 21000 rpm? Nobody reduces the rear sprocket, so I know u didn't.
There's nothing I could do to my R6 to make it go 309kmh... turbo wouldn't even do it.

The level of empathy being shown here is unbelievable and disappointing.

As Mark said 10k maybe ok but 39?!!?

You can get the **** off the road for all I care and hope they throw the book at you!

We have Extraordinary licenses over here just for dickheads like you and make me sick everytime I see an E plate knowing the driver should be off the road.

I had a mate who did the same thing 39 over lost his license and I told him straight the same thing. You can still see the shame in his eyes when he's around or driving a year later.

I drive my 2 year old girl on the roads everyday...and everyday there is a little bit of fear in me that there is going to be some dickhead like you around the corner ready to take us out.

Driving is a privilege not a right. Just because you have a job that requires a car doesn't mean you have the right to hold a license. You have the job because you have the license....you lose the license (through no fault but your own), you lose the job...plain and simple.

Book them for dangerous driving.

My mate's parents were booked for doing 40mph on a 70mph motorway because it was considered dangerous to other traffic.

And then the people that drive but its not as important as talking or txting on their phones or having an indepth convo with some passenger. If you beep them or flash hibeams they get pissed off

Before you start name calling i was coming from a 110 zone and threw a set of traffic lights that were 70 i will also state that im not a "hoon" that uses local streets as a racetrack i have dirt bikes for that. Thanks for everyone stating the obvious and for the others like me who arent "perfect" giving me some advice.

I wouldnt call Brockies death an accident.
It was an incident (big difference) an incident is something that could reasonably have been avoided.
An accident is not avoidable- and rarely happens.
Peter Perfect was killed by his overconfidence- rallying on an unfamiliar road without his usual pre race reconnisance.
He figured he would be ok- and it killed him.
You can only take risks for so long without the odds catching up.
I had (have) a lot of respect for what Peter Brock achieved during his life- and his death has taught all of us that no one is a perfect driver.

Mr OK,

We have all said our bit- but realistically, I think Paul (Landyacht) is right on this one.

Go to court, plead all your own fault, cop it on the chin.
Hire a young driver to cart you around.
Be thankfull it was only a camera that flashed in front of your eyes and not a life.

We spoke about extraordinary drivers licenses in another thread recently- its a pity that the courts cannot make suspended drivers act as supervisors for new drivers who need to rack up hours before they get a full license.

As the laws stand- if your license is suspended, you would not qualify to supervise new drivers.
Maybe that will change one day.

stephen.

I have been caught speeding stupidly. Yes im dumb and i am at fault. I was just wondering if anyone knows of ways i can keep my licence as i need it for work. I have been caught by a " Transport Roads & Maritime Services" safety camera undertaking cars. Doing 109 in a 70 zone. The letter i received says i have to appear in court. Any help or advice apart from the obvious of not speeding again would be great!!!!!!

I just reread and fixed your first bit. By undertaking, I assume you were passing on the wrong side? so not only driving way to fast , but on the side where the other cars wouldnt even look? that would be reckless or dangerous driving as well as speeding ,surely. Perhaps 3-6 months off the road might give you a chance to see just how stupidly you were driving.

First of all , I stated earlier know your facts.

my 2001 R6, 636 big bore kit, Extended swingarm. Nitros, and yes a smaller rear sproket and a larger front one( these aren't mx bike's you know- rear suspension is not the issue where you go way larger on the rear), lowered forks at the front and changed spring rates, changed rear shock and linkage. Slipper clutch. Had the rear subframe modified and lightened as with alot of other non of your business stuff including my TLR.
No it was not a speedo giving the readings it was the ticket from the booth at the start.
I go for the speed not the 1/4mile time.
If you are so flamming desperate to try and catch me out PM me and I can send you a video of me doing a wheelie at 160 on a track on a stock R6. The only reason I will not post it on here is for my own personnel reason's.
21000rpm yea about the speed your right hand moves since it's such a short stroke.

I was driving Cold Toast to Toowoomba and back twice a week for work for a year. It's a long drive, 2 hours, with lots of 80 > 100 > 80 >100 zones and I eventually lost enough points to have my licence suspended for 3 months or go on good behaviour for 1 year. I chose good behaviour.

So after one year of driving Miss Daisy... I really like it.

It's cruisy. It's relaxed. Everyone should drive at 5km\h under. It makes the day nicer. Am I really in a rush? Do I want to be in a rush? Nup. I cruise.

I'm slowing you down a bit? I'm not sorry. You know why? Because **** you, that's why.

I'm really always amazed how when I am driving to the beach for a surf I feel the need to go 10 over but when I am driving home after a good session I feel like flowing with the traffic or 10 under.

Be a good business if you could bottle the feel good vibe and sell it to the mass'.

Why brag about going fast In a straight line? Anyone can twist a throttle or put there foot down. Try throwing some decent corners or jumps in there then have a wank off
