Surprised no-one else has started a thread yet.

I don't like Apple products (as the other mods will attest), but I have a lot of respect for what he did. Rest in Peace Mr. Jobs.

Steve Jobs said...
No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don't want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life's change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true.

Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

Yeah I copypasta'd all the above.

Also thanks for my 'Android' phone -

Surely you meant "iNstein"

OK there are appears to be more to the story emerging, for all you believers in woo and PM33, apparently he spent a year seeking alternative therapies before having the potentially life saving surgery to remove the cancer. Did that kill him? You can decide..

Never owned an Apple product but they always produced something worth taking notice of - Apple II, Macintosh. Not always good. Anyone remember the Newton?

Sorry to hear about your dad doggie.

Doesn't matter who he was or what he built, to his wife and 4 kids he was a husband and father who died well before he was supposed to.

I feel sorry for them. Their sadness will last a long time.

The puns are funny and I reckon he'd laugh at them.

Shame on you Whippingboy, you are insensitive and a coward.

Maybe iKarma will pay you a visit after that comment.

My aunt died from pancreatic cancer a few years ago. It was very horrible and a terrible way to die. She was only about 55 too. My mum, her elder sister, took it quite badly.

I've never been a fan of Job's business practices as I thought they were always about money, ie having Apple USB cables with a little ridge on them so mechanically they can't connect to non Apple USB cables. Plus changing the voltages of the expansion slots so you had to go and buy an Apple expansion card that cost three times as much as the standard PC card.

It will be interesting to see how Apple goes. Clearly Apple is more than one man. They have a bunch of clever and experienced people working there.

CUPERTINO, CA—Steve Jobs, the visionary co-founder of Apple Computers and the only American in the country who had any clue what the **** he was doing, died Wednesday at the age of 56. "We haven't just lost a great innovator, leader, and businessman, we've literally lost the only person in this country who actually had his **** together and knew what the hell was going on," a statement from President Barack Obama read in part, adding that Jobs will be remembered both for the life-changing products he created and for the fact that he was able to sit down, think clearly, and execute his ideas—attributes he shared with no other U.S. citizen. "This is a dark time for our country, because the reality is none of the 300 million or so Americans who remain can actually get anything done or make things happen. Those days are over." Obama added that if anyone could fill the void left by Jobs it would probably be himself, but said that at this point he honestly doesn't have the slightest notion what he's doing anymore.

Sorry if I upset anyone,

It's seemed funny to me as Jobs was into Eastern cultures and stuff, and I just read a story about the Foxconn factories (Suicides, 16hour days etc.)
