Most of the stuff we buy comes from China and is made by underpaid workers and sometimes child labour.
If you are going to have a conscience and criticise the likes of Steve Jobs, don't buy Chinese made products. ie Kites, sails, clothes, boards.
It's hypocritical to slam the guy after he is dead but still consume his products.
Wasn't talking of your comment. Was referring to the comment after yours which has been conveniently withdrawn.
If you guys a prepared to pay $7000 for your next laptop, then you have the right to complain. most of us won't and until that day arrives, it's unfair to single out any company. Most products are made in China using cheap labour and youngsters with terrible hours. No company will change it because they won't be able to compete with the other competitors in the market. If they did pay more, the directors of those companies in china would take the money and pay their workers the same. It's not just computers, it's everything from clothing to bicycles and kids toys.
The only way for it to change is for china to raise the minimum wage and I don't see that happening. Companies will simply look for another cheap desperate location and move there.
You can't blame Apple for it, you have to blame every company out there and our own personal greed when it comes to wanting things at low cost.
Sometimes, it's the little things in life... The iPod is about 10 years old, and looking back, it revolutionised the way we carry music... Early iterations were tagged as "1000 songs in your pocket". Which was mind blowing. Now it is just a case of "all of your songs in your pocket, with your phone / iPhone".
Blackberry... what a piece of junk... sorry.
Thinking very seriously about the bottom range iPad2. Throw it on the coffee table, and check stuff on line sitting on the couch... They are so light too.
My 2 year old knows how to flick through photos on my iPhone and play videos hitting the play button on screen... ">". The wife is about to upgrade her phone... My son thinks her 2 year Nokia is a "Rubbish Phone". His words... OK, maybe my hinting...
Hats off to Steve Jobs and Apple.
As a 20 year old, I worked my ass off in relatively crappy jobs. 20 year olds in China today are probably doing slightly tougher though... Yes, child labour sucks.
As a 20 year old, I think I learnt how to streamline many things and become more productive with everything I do... "Joining the dots" as Steve Jobs calls it.
