It's not so much funny but amazing, a wow type picture..... it does bring a smile to my face and make me laugh though -what am I suppose to do cry? ...... that something so tragic can be so amazing - nature has the last laugh, I don't see as a depressing picture.....

I've always wondered why homes in storm prone areas tend not to built of bricks. Like the southern states of the US, North Queensland and Broome for instance.

Earlier this year there was a nasty willy willy that tore through ellenbrook,
www.perthnow.com.au/news/wa/pictures-sudden-storm-hits-perth-suburbs-ng-f05bc459329c8ec9dfc1091887daa273

Now I've been through a few cyclones and this front was on par, 4ft plus diameter pine and gum trees uprooted and snapped like twigs and hurled a bloody long way. Trampolines and outdoor settings lifted out of backyards and sent into the next suburb.

Other than a few awol tiles and a couple of tin roofs doing the Oz thing there was almost no damage to housing.

Is it just a cost thing? Or is it the three little pigs syndrome?

yeah I thought that initially also but the after shot is taken a little further up the road and you can't actually see the road to the right as it's covered in debris (that's where the smashed up 4WD is parked at the T intersection). The tree and chimney in the foreground of the before shot can be made out with a few other markers.

No, the guy is technically standing behind the original photograph position i.e. The banged up 4WD is parked on the side street. You can make out a row of avenue trees (or what's left of them). Also looking at the Google street view position in the bottom right hand corner, you can see some vacant allotments to the left which appear in the after shot also. It is difficult to believe but the power those Tornados pack in a very small area are much more destructive than a cyclone over the same period of time. Of course a tornado doesn't hang around for as long so cyclones can be as effective.

Apologies for hi-jacking the funny photo thread too.

The before shot shows it to be a 4 way cross road, on the google mini also,
In the second shot you say it's a T intersection (there's no road on the left)
I'd say your goin out on a limb, but there really aren't any left
