Currents carry more crocs south

"But they are still of a size, up to 4m, where they can pose a threat to people."

In addition to sightings in Carnarvon and Ningaloo Reef near Exmouth, there have been regular complaints of big crocodiles under the Derby jetty.

Dr Mawson said water temperatures had to increase only one degree with global warming and the number of Pilbara crocodiles would increase quickly.

I have never wrote.. he he he.. J Murray...but have too this time..
But a cute he he he...

Yes VERY much so..Derby has always had crocs..and the occasional one at Broome..
When the had the abattoirs in the Broome centre at Town Beach Roebuck Bay there were always a stray croc and loads of sharks

But Exmouth is no were near Derby, J Murray considerable rare for them to come down that far..but as the numbers grow and because they are territorial the smaller boys have to move to find a location of their own...

And if people don't think they will go out to sea they are highly mistaken...
they will go out to sea and catch a warm current down the coast
As the numbers increase and the water temperature rises... hey you might even get to see some in S.A. J Murray

Crocs are amazing creatures and can walk for miles from water hole to water hole if they need too. As they are not culled any more there will be alot more stories of Croc encounters. Hey I wonder if they like cane toads... that would be one solution

When I worked on the Pearl farms at Kuri Bay the water was soooooooooooooo
Clear and the weather always soooooooo hot....but if the sharks did not get you the Crocs would But as they had the pearl lines fixed to the inlet bays bed someone always had to dive on them if they came loss for some reason...it's not a nice feeling swimming with sharks and crocs

But I think you might know this J Murray and just pulling my laryett

Apologies to those in WA and Qld but Tuesday arvo I managed to knock off at about 3.30. Was a lovely spring day so I pottered around in the garden doing a few chores. Then rigged my big rig and board and tried to get up a score on Elmos light wind challenge. Spent a couple of hours pumping and rocking in the 10 knot gusts and just got planing a couple of times. Then came in and had a nice cold sauvingon blanc with my wife as the sun set. Then fired up the (wood burning) bbq and cooked steaks with mash potatoes and mushrooms.
Don't you love daylight saving.

I love sauteed mushies, and daylight saving, but prefer reisling or semillon.

At least I can get 2 outta 3 over here.

Wind is my fav so keep pumping away frant-ically.

3 outta 4 is almos all good.

We lived in Derby when I was in year 4, primary school; my brother and I and our friends used to go jumping off the Derby Jetty for a swim, till one day a guy came past and says "You boys know there's crocodiles in there don't you?"
I also almost got swept out to sea on an outgoing tide once retrieving my thongs, which I had dropped into the water from one of the lower platforms, I was going to go for a swim, but then thought better of it.

Yeah, we'll never know how close, or far we got to being eaten.
But then maybe we did and this is all a dream.
Trouble is, the dream could be better...
