If you could choose any place to live on the planet not worrying even about finances much where it could be?
You still want high standard of living, access to clean blue water for your beloved water sports.
Then you want peaceful surrounding and moderate climate.
It shouldn't be also completely cultural desert, at least with easy access to the world....
Where it could be

What if you want a cultural desert? I don't mean a half-arsed desert, a scrub land like Bathurst, a real cultural desert. Devoid of all people. Just you and perfect nature (and a perfectly natural companion or two, eh?).

...not worrying even about finances...

I just bought Maui. All of it. Everybody off.

Madeira is awesome. Great trade winds.

I'd have to say lake Garda in Italy. The best place on earth.
