I'm not a fan of Cruise but he was great in Magnolia and Collateral.

He played supremely narcicistic, power driven socio/psychopaths and was very good in those roles.. hang on a sec..

Agree there, he does talent but seems like such a douche.

I liked him in Born on the Fouth of July

Beetlejuice

The Spanish Prisoner (with Steve Martin)

The Fantastic Mr Fox

Edit, the idea of owning movies so that you can watch them again seems pretty pointless to me, accepting the lottery that is late night TV is a different matter.

good list except for the first. Never been a fan of Mr Greenway'a films. maybe too artsy for me....
the third film will always be a classic. special effects were pretty good for its time.

It was a classic and historic double up of those guys in "Heat".

Pacino was also excellent in "City Hall".

It is quite amazing that pretty much every top film list (and most of this thread) only lists films that were made in America, especially given that most American films are spoon feeding ripoffs of non-American films: French, Spanish, etc etc...

So to fix that: I rate pretty much anything that Luc Besson ever directed, especially the early stuff (see www.imdb.com/name/nm0000108/) and particularly if it has Jean Reno (www.imdb.com/name/nm0000606/) in it.

For the revheads:

taxi - www.imdb.com/title/tt0152930/

For the softies:

Angel-A - www.imdb.com/title/tt0473753/

And for action:

Subway - www.imdb.com/title/tt0090095/
Leon: The Professional - www.imdb.com/title/tt0110413/
Nikita (not the crappy hollywood version) - www.imdb.com/title/tt0100263/

Too True, have watched so much SBS stuff waiting for the porn that I actually got educated ;)
One movie I'll never forget but stilldont know the name but sure it will appear just at the right time, it was maybe Serbian about drug dealers but not your usual suspects, the dealers had a whipping boy who's mother hosted a TV show dedicated to murderers and theives, where one dealer shot the other in the leg live on TV because thats what drug dealers do, one of the best scenes was the dealers grandmother, he kept her happy with a regular supply of coke and pot, she had no idea what they were, she was just happy, if you can name the movie, i'll buy you a carton and drink half ;)
I love the frog woman who played so many parts in french films but sold her soul to appear on the screen with Tom Hanks, I lost all the love I had for Amelie that day.

Any movie from the series "Lone Wolf and Cub" I can watch any of them over and over.
