Do we need any more evidence that we live on a cosmic lunatic asylum?

No,

we live in a prison. Freedom is an anethema to what corporations and governments stands for. They demand and gain control over ever more aspects of our lives.

it wasn't always like this, 100 years ago people could do what ever the f*** they wanted as long as it didn't hurt others... if it did they killed you.

Now we employee people to curtail or God given rights... this comment goes to the Kronic thread too.

I'm starting to feel like a cog in a machine.

This is the first time I've been introduced to Mark Steyn. He's meant to be the hero of right wing commentary etc. ......... Well, that's a bit underwhelming.

Yeh, we fought wars and lost lives for freedom, now we stress about OH&S regulations about everything in our job, pay more and more for roads and tolls and if we do anything wrong by anyone we get sued.

Freedom?

If we speed on the road we get caught by a hidden camera.

The colour of this screen is not white (that'd be racially intolerant).

Don't dare smack your kid, that'd be wrong. I school teacher canes a kid, they go to jail.

I prefer an Australia that isn't politically correct like the one in the thread about the first travels to Gnaraloo and the Bluff. Where Australians arent fearful of everything, can camp anywhere, and don't give a f u k u shima about their wording to describe something.

Who screwed up our country? Is it the Government, the Unions? Corporations? Those stupid Current Affairs shows on at 6.30 or was is Kochie?

Hmmm. Let me get this straight. So you agree that playing "Kung Fu Fighting", as part of a set, doing a gig, in pub actually does constitute hate speech?

It will be a sad day when Australia turns in to a nanny state. For those who think it already is look at Europe and America to rethink your opinion.

As for kung foo fighting as with everything in life context is everything. The same act in different circumstances can have very different implications.

I would want to see the facts about how the song was used before deciding if it was racist or not.

I reckon I could play "Everybody was kung fu fighting" in a sufficiently offensive manner..... or in a way offensive enough to get someone to say something to me. After that it would be pretty easy to get arrested for a public order offence.....

However...This happened in April. The guy was arrested at the time. While it was widely reported in late April and early May, there seems to be very little coverage of any subsequent events from any of the main media channels. It all seems to have gone away.... except for shock jocks implying that he is still going through legal process...

Life in Europe is very easy! What is not forbidden is compulsory! It is becoming like that here pretty fast!

No, definitly not, unless, as the Ginger Pom points out, he was playing the song with his knob hanging out(I made that bit up). But really I doubt if these things are real or whether they get twisted and twisted into a form that fits the "it's political correctness gone mad" crew. Mind you, it's a seriously crap song though.
