Watching my 6yo son throw about 5m in shotput at his school sports, only to be ripped off by 1.5m (the teacher wasn't paying attention & marked it way short), then him still winning by about 1m.
Same day - watched him come 2nd last in the 200m, then walk up to the winner & give him a smile & a high-5 & saying "good running, wow you run really fast!"
1 year later, watched my prep daughter winning easy at hurdles, and about 10m before finish line stop & kneel down to pull her shoe back on...she got 2nd place.
I just can't get into mainstream sports anymore...
Watching Darren Lockyer kick the field goal in golden point time at Suncorp stadium on Sat night. It was his last game ever (retiring) at home for the Broncos, a record breaking appearance ie most ever played by anyone in League and now they go on to play Manly in the semi finals this Friday night.
Do you think the crowd in Brisbane loves Darren Lockyer?
P.S He also fractured his cheek bone and played the rest of the match. He has had titanium plates put in this week and will play this weekend as well.

I felt bloody good one year at Forbes(Hang-gliding) getting into goal on the second day approx 115 Kms (5+hrs) - I was busting for a piss - practically crash-landed in the bushes - would have been a distance record - absolute hose

watching Joel Garner, the lowest order batsman of the West Indies hit 6 sixes on the final innings on a one day international back in 81/82, this was the team no one could beat, West Indies made a joke out of everyone. I think TC may have won 83/84 world titles which makes it 1984. That's my guess.

Albert Ernest Clifford "Cliff" Young was an Australian potato farmer and athlete from Beech Forest, Victoria, best noted for his unexpected Westfield Sydney to Melbourne Ultra Marathon win at 61 years of age in 1983.......watching that unfold was WTF?
Pat Cash Australian professional tennis player who won the men's singles title at Wimbledon in 1987............that was a defining win in my memory, just sensational to watch live.
Eddie "The Eagle" Edwards
Michael Edwards (born 5 December 1963), better known as Eddie "The Eagle" Edwards, is a British skier who was the first competitor to represent Great Britain in Olympic ski jumping. At the time, Edwards was the British ski jumping record holder, the world number nine in amateur speed skiing (106.8 mph) and the stunt jumping world record holder (10 cars/6 buses) To realize his Olympic dream he decided to switch to ski jumping for reasons of cost and easier qualification with no other competing British ski jumpers he was totally self-funded. Another problem was that he was very farsighted, requiring him to wear his glasses at all times, even though when skiing they fogged to such an extent that he could not see. Eddie was informed of his qualification for the Games whilst working as a plasterer and residing temporarily in a Finnish mental hospital due to lack of funds for alternative accommodation
Edwards was the best ski jumper in the United Kingdom, setting a British record of 73.5 m in one of his Calgary jumps in 1988 Olympics
Edwards finished last in both the 70m and 90m events.......what a legend!

David Foster is the first person in sporting history to have won 1000 championships. This was achieved at the Sydney Royal Easter Show in 1998 and widely reported by media both in Australia and overseas.
David has represented Australia since 1980 and was captain of Australia for 21 years consecutively. At the 2003 Sydney Royal Easter Show, David announced his retirement as captain of the Australian team, however will hopefully be able to represent his country for many years to come.
He has won the Australian Axeman of the Year a record breaking nine times in a row. In 1990 David was awarded Axeman of the Decade - the accolades just keep coming.
There is not a major event in Australia and New Zealand that David hasn't competed in and won - when he competed against the Americans he took three world records from them.
