I was talking to a mate who told me he traded in some of his "fun hours" for some loving from his wife
As for me I dont think I could do anything to replace time on my own.
Anywho my question is what would you do to forfiet time on the water?
Heck! Id even miss my mums funeral to chase some green
The age old question hey. I was just thinking about this yesterday when a bloke who wants to come on a motorbike ride this weekend said he was negotiating his leave pass. He said it was a 50/50 chance. I was thinking that I've got a 100% chance, as I've got no-one to negotiate said leave pass with.
Incidentally, where did those green arrows come from Saturday arvo? Starting to think a ride isn't the best way to spend it. But BOM doesn't agree, max 18 knots.
Anyway, what would I trade fun hours for? Easy: someone to negotiate leave passes with. The last girl I dated told me as she was leaving me 'you don't have the same passion for me that you do for kiteboarding'. So, die single with lots of kiteboarding? Or trade some of it in for someone to come home to after a session?
I'm supposed to go the an air show with a mate this weekend, should include F-15 and F-16s. Seabreezes forecast both days.
> Need an excuse.
At the moment I have to try an trade "family time" with "water time". Seems like every weekend my kids have to go to a birthday party or relatives want to visit. I can't get away at all!!!!
So Liz and Pat, you guys should consider yourselves lucky to be able to get out as much as you can.
(not that I regret being married or having kids)
That is part of my point though Chook. Yes we're lucky to be able to do what we want when we want, but in the greater scheme of things does that make up for coming home to an empty house every night?
Ahh yes Chook... I do consider myself lucky in some respects... If I plan on having 30 kids everyday, for exactly 201 days of the year, minus public holz... A quiet house will be AMAZING!
You made the QLD -> WA move didn't you nebs?
What possesses chicks to want to tell you what you can and can't do with your time?
As in, spending 3 hours a day (10 if you include sleep time) with them isn't enough, they think they have an inalienable right to stop you sitting at the computer uninterrupted for an hour...
*sigh*
But cuddles are nice.
Greenie was talking about a mate trading off one sail for a root
and the soppy stuff comes out.
I'd trade a so-so sail for a bit of action maybe, but not a ripper day at a DTL secret spot.
Conversely, trading a so-so r&&t
Loaded the car this morning, my better half picke dme up from the city at 3, had a sail.
Didn't rig or de-rig, or have a cold beer waiting
but davman & I had a nice easy sail
get sneeky, Ive started building a yacht with only 2 berths ready for retiring. Missus gets sick or bored after 2 hours on the water.I constantly make it known that Im going sailing ,and do you want to come?. Wifeys reaction was to do the same, but with her choice of downtime, kind of a a agree to disagree thing. Kids go with whoever they feel like on the day. Sometimes the planets align and we all camp, sail, and socialize together in harmony.
Down side ,the house is falling to bits, the gardens could use a couple of weekends, house is gradually looking like it needs a Good clean , not just a busy wife type clean, but a real scrub/pressure clean
