Did this a few days ago. The questions were weird, like as if the major issue facing Australians is asylum seekers.

I was dead centre too, with a massive grey area surrounding me and taking up a fair portion of the matrix. They aren't saying what the grey area means.

Yeah, but the vote compass just matches your responses to the questions to the parties responses to the same questions. It doesn't match you against their actual policy positions or actions.

I think this is a better compass for the Australian political landscape :

Shooters and Fishers Party!

All joking aside and being proper serious....

S&F are pushing for more public access to locked areas so the average family can go fishing, hiking, 4W driving, camping, hunting etc.

Over the years there have been huge chunks of land [and water] declared off limits by the govt. as any fisho's can tell you.
In W.A. most bushwalkers are pretty confined to where they can go- with much of the Perth hills being off limits due to being declared water catchments, while the feral pigs get free access!

I for one am not comfortable with shooters in national parks. Recipe for disaster.

While I'd like to believe in the myth of the responsible shooter, I'm not convinced. I used to work with some, their stories of going to clean up feral pigs on some farm and then the red mist descends then hours later they've shot everything that moved from emus to magpies, decorated a whole fence with emu heads, real horror show stuff. Like what happened here:

Also re 4WD's well areas being opened up for 4WDs makes them great - if you're in a 4WD. For everyone else it makes the area less good. 4wd beaches in QLD are no good for swimming, sunbaking etc they are highways on sunny days.

In the end this vote compass is extremely main stream. It promotes the status quo of the big, state subsidised, political parties. Why on earth are the big parties in the position they are in? They probably are less representative comparing the numbers of party members to the whole population, than the Communist Party of the U.S.S.R. was under Stalin.

These major parties are just the vehicle of power seeking, seat warming brown nosers to get on the gravy train of the high life. They run the country to suit themselves and their benefactors. They are willing to flip from one party to another if its in their interests.
