That spinning woman just blew my mind.

Was clockwise for me for ages. Couldnt understand how it could be anti clock wise. I blinked, looked away from the screen and could see it spinning anti clockwise out the corner of my eye. Trippy.

I found this on it:

"In popular psychology, the illusion has been incorrectly[6] identified as a personality test that supposedly reveals which hemisphere of the brain is dominant in the observer. Under this wrong interpretation, it has been popularly called the Right Brain–Left Brain test,[7] and was widely circulated on the Internet during late 2008 to early 2009."

Pink camouflage won't work [:D

But seriously, I've never been comfortable with old blokes sending young blokes off to war

Oh I just remembered, when I was young I wore pointy Beatle Boots, orange socks, and skin tight Leisuremaster jeans, nothing wrong with me

Beatle Boots................ Least they were better than those Nancy dancing pumps and would keep the double Gees out of your feet And if you got into a scrap, they were good enough to allow a bit of Balmain dancing with no issues

For goodness sake this isn't the norm of late I notice with our young men. Girls looking more like top country girls in dress sense but lads looking more like "Nancy Boys "

Give the young guy credit for dressing out of the square!

Do we really need one more person getting around emblazoned in the whole ripsiverbong kit trying to conform to the aussie identity?

Ha, after that it was ripple soled desert boots and duffel coats, even in a Perth summer. Then after that it was Lee jeans and flanno shirts

I think some of you old blokes on here are spending way too much time looking at younger blokes and their fashion. Seems a bit odd.

youth unemployment in Australia is about the lowest its been in post modern history, certainly less than half of what it was in the 70,s and 80,s. High school retention to year 12 is hovering about 80-90 percent depending on which state. This is in contrast to around 26 percent in the 70's and 80's. Most young men are way more educated and world wise than any of us where at the same age, and judging by the neanderthal comments about what a "real bloke" should look like are probably a **** load smarter and more tolerant than some on this forum. really are some of the male ego's here so fragile that we get threatened by young kids wearing something different.

Each time an Aussie bloke drinks from those plastic containers, the BPA estrogen turns him that little bit more feminine.

From a female perspective,at least it helps to stops them from being hassled for ....y every few minutes.

Interesting points.
That unemployment is low is not a function of the current generation - it's related to the economy of the moment, plus the fact that part-time employment is now counted differently than was at the time by the ABS. Ditto high school. If you go back, there was even less high school in medieval times (?).

There's also the growing pool of people not counted in unemployment numbers, such as kids living in mum's basement (since kids leave the parental home later in life now), and students that will never graduate.

More educated, etc.: of course, this is the age of Internet and travel. Even me mum (and people that age) is more educated, travelled and world-wise than she used to be herself. So not a matter of age and generation.

Agreed about the redneck-ness of judging by the clothes. Looking at pictures from the 50s and 60s, you could tell a bloke from a sheila from the distance . Not so anymore - big deal, you're right.

Still in the holster when you pulled the trigger there El-clever one. The point being made was:
The girl looked more natural in her dress sense, which in real terms wasn't that far off being realistic for the location (Rural), Where as her sibling brother, looked more feminine with his selection. Karrrpish? You can have what ever dress sense you want, and I am no shrinking violet there, used to select some doozy's.
But for men's sake, look a little masculine and confidnet with what ever you choose. Dancing pumps, Geraldton and Dongara landscape just dont mix

I had a meeting a few months ago with a researcher from the QLD Govt who openly told me that there was a real issue with Gen Y and desire to learn and/or work.

My suggestion to him was either this or volunteer work in 3rd world countries, perhaps if they knew how incredibly fortunate they are to have been born in this amazing country they'd be more motivated to get off their a$$.

We have a young fella here thats 23yo and he is great!! One of the best young guys we have ever had.
In contrast we have just got rid of a 21yo little pr!ck who was only interested in doing what he wanted. Couldnt take any direction at all, very frustrating and Im glad he is gone
I guess that some want to work but most dont, you can also say that about some older crew as well but not as often.

Please shut up Peter, you need estrogen badly.

Compulsions in male lab mice, such as those in Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), may be caused by low estrogen levels.

When estrogen levels were raised through the increased activity of the enzyme aromatase in male lab mice, OCD rituals were dramatically decreased. Hypothalamic protein levels in the gene COMT are enhanced by increasing estrogen levels which is believed to return mice that displayed OCD rituals to normal activity. Aromatase deficiency is ultimately suspected which is involved in the synthesis of estrogen in humans and has therapeutic implications in humans having obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Here's where you'll find it:

It's no wonder the kids are confused when you look at the role models like that soccer player who took a dive for his opponent touching his shirt.
