the end result of the system failure is seen on the TV, London Burning, sounds like a song from the Clash, which it probably is, the breakdown of society to the lowest level, growing up you learnt to respect your elders, now you have to respect the da hoods cause you may not want to die at that time, its that bad, TV is filled with either murder shows dissecting victims or reality shows full of winner takes all together market analysts saying the profit is not nearly enough, **** the world is f..ked ,blah blah effyn blah

I tend to agree Choco & Ock.

The Chinese Government would have had it sorted by now !!

As Vincent Vega on Pulp Fiction kind of said,
At 3:50 - You play with matches, you will get burned.... he didn't expect him to react the way he did, but he had to expect a reaction....

------------------
You run a muck on the streets, you must expect a reaction !! Pretty simple really....
Enjoy!;

Lets put it another way...
You and all your mates on your side of the island surf, and windsurf, and stuff, and you have lots of great stuff in your garages. The blokes from the other side of the island are into hotrod cars and guns, and they have decided that they are going to come and loot all the garages on your side of the island. So you ring the cops... the cops say they can't help because their guns and cars and numbers aren't good enough, compared to the masses of hot rod dudes with loads of guns... The cops tell you, you should ring the army, they have tanks, masses of fire power, tear gas, and lots of other stuff that might help your situation.....

I'm not saying turning the army on the citizens is right.... but often the citizens running a muck and out of control in mob format isn't right either.... two wrongs make a right!

They are breaking the law . The law should have enough power to stop them.

The police dont have water cannons or rubber bullets.

All they have is shields and body armor .

The police need weapons !!!

This world of ours has gone so politcaly correct it,s letting scum bags like that get away with this .

It,s crap !!!!

People who Riot are after a fight.. If I was Dear Leader, I would send the fire trucks to the sewage works and then drive around hosing poo on the idiots..

Nobody riots when they are covered in poo, they go home and take a shower..

That gives you time to ask yourself how many unemployed, bored, angry young men can live in a city..

Hmmm. They live in a country that has a ROYAL FAMILY FFS. I'd be a bit pissed off too. London is a miserable ****ehole at the best of times. Biggest shame is that the idiots haven't directed their anger on Buckingham Palace or one of the other royal abodes in London, and instead have chosen to **** in their own nests, as these type of idiots do.

God Save The Queen.

Fkn heck, here we go............
I think you might find the participants are of all ethnic backgrounds. In some of the footage i saw it was black and white standing next to each other lobbing bricks.

I spoke to a friend who lives in Peckham tonight, he said that everyone they know is shaking their heads in disbelief unable to fathom it. He reckons its just angry bored youth being oppertunistic.

The pommes will never send the army in its a sure fire way of them admitting they have lost control.

No and neither do we. But it does not mean you have lost control, it means you are serious about keeping it.

You only ever see extended civil disorder in the so-called civilised countries.
In 90% of the world the rioters are told to fk off, and when they don't they are teargassed and hit with rubber bullets, and they then leave very quickly.

Whereas Britain and Australia have teenagers running around smashing sh!t at parties on Sat night and out of 200 in the street, 1 gets arrested.

We have a lot to learn, we are soft and we get what we deserve. (By "we" I mean the bvllsh!t namby pamby "rights for offenders" societies we have in the UK and Oz.)

That UK riot should never have gone past 6hrs, they should all be in hospital or lying in park overcome by teargas and wishing they behaved.

hmmm, looks like england needs to find a new dumping ground like australia was, except there's nowhere left now.

i still think half of our youth problems stem from kids being given adult rights that they haven't earnt.

our society has been betrayed by political correctness and interfering do gooders

those two girls in that vid link leave me dumbfounded

1 minute past the 6th hour and those at the top are now attempting to justify the strategy employed at the time. Because sure as hell those numbats who engineered the society to its current standing, they will be looking to hang some pore bastard to protect their incompetent skins. It will be all blame, blame, blame, muddy the waters, and the good guys at the front line will get it in the neck, sure as the sun coming up tomorrow.
If it was good enough to let loose with rubber bullets and all other forms in Ireland, what the hell's wrong with bringing this lot under control using the same measures.

I'm a Brit, in the UK at the moment. A lot of my friends live very close to where this is all going on.

We're all in favour of sending the army in.

We deploy the British Army with tear gas, water cannons and rubber bullets in Northern Ireland, so why the hell not London?

Any citizen that acts out like this against its own country no longer affords himself the priviledge of being protected by that countries armed forces.

Still, not a lot of talk on exactly why this happening.

Absolutely disgusting. I understood looting was enough excuse to bring down the harshest treatment ie-: marshall law. These are nothing but dirtbags who are using a minor event to get some free stuff and cause mayhem. Agree with 99% of thoughts here, send in the army, give them some practice on moving targets, not with live ammo though, just with stuff that stings for a heck of a long time and leaves big bruises so this scum can be identified later.

Seabreeze history here, I agree with Mark and others.

I think any country that doesn't protect its citizens deserves to fail. If that means bringing in the army then so be it. This isn't a protest fighting some kind of repression - it's willful lawlessness for the fun of it. People have died for no good reason.

The trouble with sending in the army to do police work is soldiers are trained to use lethal force on their enemy which is not policing. From the last report I've heard, one person has been killed in these riots. If lethal force was used against rioters, who can not say if lethal force would be returned, escalating the violence.

Its surprising so many believe a nation's armed forces, which are supposibly paid for by the taxpayers to protect the country against external threats should be used against a country's own citizens if those citizens riot.

The chief of the London Metro police said they are boosting the number of on duty police in from six thousand to sixteen thousand. This sounds like a reasonable response. Get the police out on the streets to restore law and order. Once law and order is returned, arrest the rioters and find out why these riots happened.

Bit late getting more police on the ground, should have done it from day one and nipped the rioting in the bud, the army should be used to round up these ferals into one area where the police can then get hold of them.
If it was your business, home, car or family being personally attacked I'm sure you would change your tune.

It's a difficult dilema. I'm sure the UK armed forces have troops who have been trained to handle public disturbances and riots etc, as they had soldiers stationed in Northern Ireland for a long time which responded to similar sorts of acts.

I guess if you are PM or in charge, you need to look at the bigger picture. For example the UK are currently engaged in an operation against the Libyan Government. What is one of the main reasons? Because the Libyan army is firing upon it's own country's civilians. It would look pretty hypocritical if the British Government then goes and does the same thing on it's own civilians.

I have been apauled to watch these thugs carry on the way they have, with total disregard for the law. It's a pretty frightening scenario, rally enough thugs using modern technology to run riot and almost no police force is going to be large enough to handle it.
