Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing ever happened.

With this sort of stuff out there on the interweb the time between now and the next American election is going to a torture worse than late night TV.

At least L Ron Hubbard had the decency to include a few aliens in his theories.

if we can stop the 'Centre For Disease Control' deliberately releasing a virus into the

community then maybe we would not need to prepare.

With rumours swirling in conspiratorial corners that the end of the world is nigh, the US government this week posted some online counsel on how to be prepared in case of a zombie apocalypse.

"There are all kinds of emergencies out there that we can prepare for. Take a zombie apocalypse for example," said an official blog post by Assistant Surgeon General Ali Khan on the Centres for Disease Control website.

"You may laugh now, but when it happens you'll be happy you read this, and hey, maybe you'll even learn a thing or two about how to prepare for a real emergency," says the blog.

The tongue-in-cheek post makes no reference to fervent allegations by some preachers that the world will end on Saturday May 21.

It does however point to numerous examples of "the rise of zombies in pop culture... (giving) credence to the idea that a zombie apocalypse could happen."

The blog points readers to emergency preparedness tips that the CDC has long advocated, such as having an emergency kit at one's home containing water, food and supplies "to get you through the first couple of days before you can locate a zombie-free refugee camp," it says.

"(Or in the event of a natural disaster, it will buy you some time until you are able to make your way to an evacuation shelter or utility lines are restored)."

Knowing an evacuation route, having a designated meeting place with family and a list of emergency contacts are also high on the list.

"If zombies did start roaming the streets, CDC would conduct an investigation much like any other disease outbreak," it promises.

So - if I go out and party tonight like its the end of the world, tomorrow morning I'll feel like a Zombie ?

I can't recall too well but I think this warning may have already occured before in my youth. Or was that when I woke up next to what I recall was an angel, but who had mysteriously turned into a zombie ??

There's no getting away from the dooms day'ers.
They're here and some are even actively planning for it.

Here's my $0.2... we live in a fairly democratic country, if you have rationally come to the conclusion that some $hit's about to hit us, you must know the reasons; so instead of telling us the sky is falling, and pretending your little food and arms cash is gona get you through, get active and think of real solutions that's gona get society through.

Humans are capable of the most amazing feats; that's why we're the guardians of this planet.

So what do you know and what are you going to do about it?

As some of you might know I'm still very much in favour of mobilizing the people and expanding out in to our galaxy...

Tonight I'm gonna party like it's nineteen ninety nine.

Back to the original post. I think the world would be a better place with a billion people. But no way should any authority be telling people what to do. Any reduction should be achieved through natural changes in our society. For example improved education and job opportunities for women will naturally decrease the fertility rate.

Colonising the moon would have to be the first step in that direction.

Man has been there once. Why has he not been back since??

Did somebody up there say "You have got no place up here Sunshine. Don't come back."??

That being the case, maybe you should get a hold of this book.

boatbits.blogspot.com/2010/01/on-not-sailing-farm-and-making.html

Or you could even download it from here.

Better still from this link in pdf format. Took about 30 seconds and it is an interesting read with some good practical ideas.

The technology that we develop to sustain humans outside of Earth will also enable us to increase the carrying capacity of Earth.

Little biosphere in the middle of nowhere with a 3d printer (object printing), circuit printer, recycling system, hydroponics, high speed net... download designs for the stuff you need, get the materials from the land, design your own stuff, ...

Our biggest problem is education and leadership. Very few people know where they're going or why they're here... an we're suckers for a doom and gloom story.

I have a feeling that the human race is on the cusp of a massive shift in conciousness. I hope this is the case because if we do not civilise up globally very soon we are in for a heap of trouble. I also have a feeling that we are going to experience a good deal more violence before this change takes place.

I've been doing some Audio Video work at a theatre for a VERY religious "organization" and they have bookings for the next 3 weeks.... so the end of the world won't occur in that time.
