let me put it out there.
yes its a water sport forum with a general discussion forum.
HOWEVER when contributers create bad vibes by continually ramming stuff into our faces about topics that are repetitive, and we are sick of, then create bad vibes again by constant complaints about the results of their actions, i think they should clam up and think they are lucky not to be kicked off all together.

this is supposed to be a community of people enjoying stuff on line. if you dont do it, stay away. find somewhere else to carry on please. seabreeze is going to be known as "sooky la la its your fault not mine" forums.

I'm with you youngbull,

I think it's simple, don't look, don't read it, don't respond to it and don't worry about it. Who really gives a toss what people post if you ignore them they will go away.

You cant speak for everyone what do you think we are a bunch of sheep. Some people have different interests and some people just like stirring the $hit. with out them this forum would not be worth coming on.

This is a public forum isn't it?

Nope , it's provided (paid for) by private person/s & moderated by volunteers- the public just always feels it tends to "own" forums.

All forums turn to shyte eventually, more so if an end is not put to dribble & linking. Im sure Laurie could close the forums at any time so why bitch & moan.

so youngbull do you seriously advocate this foum having no rules?

All Laurie did, as owner and creator of the site, was exercise his right to say "no more conspiracy threads" as some people posted almost nothing but conspiracies and caused arguments.

Same as no politics or religion.
Youngbull, if I posted Pro Liberal party stuff every single day, would you say laurie should put a stop to it?

The forums wouldn't exist without the public, we buy gear from the retailers that sponsor this site so in a round about way it is our money keeping this site going. Then we are the ones on the site forums without that there would be no site. There is no join up fee, and you can get on and read everything without signing up.

Well the conspiracy people & those that feel wronged can always go elsewhere with like minded people. This is a watersports based forum. If they are truely here to get that fix of shopping for gear & to talk shop on their favourite watersport then great- i'm sure they will return for that. There are more forums in the world than just searbreeze- thank god (& no I wouldnt have said that 2 years ago).

Would there be any sponsors if it was widely regarded as the forum that had bitching, fighting, swearing and people deliberately posting stuff that upset others?

That is why there are rules and moderation

The sponsors don't give a sh1t if this forum is censored. Just you.

Sponsors just care that this is the best water and wind sports forum in the country and punters are likely to click on their ad when they are here reading about wind and water sports topics and checking the wind.

surely General Discussion >Shooting the breeze says it all.
Everyone has something to say , and I find that there are some really interesting topics discussed, if someone doesn't like that then they maybe they should stick to a specific forum such as Windsurfing General etc.

Ok Mark_Australia I'll bite.

Did you actually read my 2 line post?.. I like it the way it is.

I did not say no rules.

You just like to complicate things.

Youngbull, Saltiest was agreeing with laurie's recent ban on conspiracy threads and lamenting the fact that those who were censored are still whining about it.
You then said "off ya go then [}:)]" which implies you disagree with Saltiest, right?

Then you said you like it the way it is which implies you agree with Saltiest?

I'm not complicating things I just am confused.

You agree with the rules, but Saltiest put a "pro-rules" post up and you say "off ya go then"

TV & radio seem to do just fine with a censorship board?

And I don't think anyone is floating the idea that this situation should change.

But that's not what happened. What happened was that a small number of posters kept banging on about the SAME BLOOMIN' CR@P over and over again non stop in every friggin thread day after day same shyte different calendar page non stop comin out our ever lovin ears doesn't matter what the original topic as about blah blah without end same crap all over again and again... you get the picture, I'm sure. They didn't. Until numbers of people told 'em to put a sock in it and take it elsewhere. And that STILL didn't stop them.

In the end Laurie chose to step in and now they're crying. Too bad I say. This isn't a public service, it's a facility created, run and paid for by a person for whatever purposes they see fit and therefore that person is entitled to make up whatever rules they like. I think that anyone who doesn't like the rules here is entitled to find a door and use it. Plenty of other fora out there for them to use!

I am certainly not crying about anything here.

The internet to date is fairly free and open in this country.

Question is:- Is this forum free and open??

If an individual is not interested in "Chem Trails", "911 was an inside job", "Delica vs Troopy" or any other topic, why in the name of sanity would that individual enter into the discussion.

I am not interested in surfing/wind/kite/SUP so I don't even look in those forums let alone make any comment in them. Why would I??

Does "General Discussion" mean "General Discussion" or "General Discussion only if a select few of us like you"?

The site is called seabreeze

This forum is 'shooting the breeze' there is a commonality there.

The same CT's kept cut and pasting the same tripe from the same youtube sh1t in every thread and the majority were getting pissed off.

Same 4 dudes rehashing the same subjects day after day after day after day.

Chemtrails, 9/11, flouride, WWII, NWO......

I reckon Laurie should have given you a little corner to play in. But Laurie is God!
