Shave it off with a kukris.

To remove the remnants you could then use Hempel Degreaser (wax and grease remover) or any other brand or you could try plumber's priming fluid (methylethyleketone) or even acetone.

With all the above use a respirator.

hairdryer until it melts, then scrape off.

That's if your wife has one.

leave in sun for a few minutes to soften, scrape of bulk wax with plastic scraper. Use old polo T-shirt or tea-towel (course weave) soaked in mineral turps to remove residue and any waxy film. Light sand with 600 grit wet and dry to ensure bonding of new resin.

the board has lived in the sun for a year and the wax is crunchy!!!!
I willhave ago at some of the suggestions tommorrow, after work
the board Im making wasa a pointy one with 3 fins , but Ive cut it down to make a boogie board so I can have one at the beach as well

ive shaped a hollow into the nose and reshaped the remaining fins.
then just ban the kids from using it

Well based on that project you could lightly use an orbital sander - finish off with finer wet and dry, then re-spray the whole board with auto paint... design/pattern optional

plan is to have it nearby when doing other glassing jobs so all the little leftovers of resin can be used to fill and cover it.hate to see a board go to waste.
when I use the kids boards they seem soft and floppy , so I thought why not a stiffer board with a couple of small fins.
Am i gonna get hurt by doing something silly?

Scrape excess off with barbie scraper or wax comb.
Boil Kettle.
dribble over remaining wax and use a green and yellow dish scourer thing-o and remove the last of it.
voila.

Those soft floppy body boards can be forgiving when you land flat on your guts after going over the falls ;)

nice day today for glassingso I finished the boogie board
had some small bits of carbon too so it feels kinda tough

I am wondering if the fins are too big,but the first "big" wave will soon tell me

I left it out on a 38degree day then scrapedwith a big chisel and paint scraper.
once the big stuff was off the turps was brilliant. then I finished with acetone

Wot?? The kukris wasn't sharp enough???? Ooooohhhh, I forgot. Each time a kukris is drawn from it's scabbard, it must also draw blood.

I told you acetone would work.
