The music..... The relentless drum machine correct doof doof kickdrum on every beat with sandpaper like irritating artificial high-hat scuffing over the top, on and on and on and on and on, then...it stops ! ahhh... but no. it starts up again exactly the same. sometimes a whinning square wave melody in the background. Its crap ! I can understand people at a rave dancing trancelike to it while they're on drugs but WHY would you play it on a boat in a marina in the middle of the day???? huh ????
........even country music is better ! there, I've said it...

LOL...

Can't be that bad can it!? You should blast back some country music, or Rod Stewart or the BeeGees just for fun! [}:)]

Not that I am inciting either of those actions.

just be happy you didn't have to listen to screamo or some whining rich hollywood person who can afford to have their tone electronicly corrected. (lady gaga for example)

Home of the infamous Aqua drop shooters (Blue curacao based and depending on how nice the bar staff were on the night bugger all or loaded right up!) that tasted like cr@p and strangely reminiscent of a face full of Vics!

Ha ha Greeny, haven't had the 'take yer brain to another dimensio' lyric stuck in my head for a decade or so. Mogrel

The great thing about raves and pill infested clubs - as evidenced in the above clip - was that even a dead set honky white boy like myself could feel free to cut loose and dance it up, safe in the knowledge that at least 80% of wackos joint had far less rythmic ability and co-ordination than I!!

How funny was it seeing some munted feind with green glow stick goop oozing all over their face cause their chuppas had run out and the desperatly needed to chew on sumpin!? Those geezers are probably coppers, teachers or CCC lawyers these days!!

BTW I have deep admiration for anyone who can sing "You can tell by the way i walk I'm a woman's man" in a super high falsetto.. GOLD GOLD GOLD

Had a chat to Sharif Gallall the other night (ex JJJ Groove train DJ) laffin about the old school and hazy/crazy days. Glad to get out of that era alive and with some grey matter still functioning!!

Ha ha - also had to laff at how bad the podium dancres were in the above clip. I think that little routine is called the '3 step catch the ride up wedgy'.

Mmmm.. FM boots n hot pants - all is forgiven!!

Back in the day late eighties if i remember properly a mate of mine sad that there was a party going on and would i like to come......sure i said.

So hop in a car and drive to the M25, the orbital rd around London, meet in a service station he said off exit whatever he said.
What an exciting time. Us and a couple thousand other nutters all driving around the m25 Beeping horns hanging out of windows only to arrive in a paddock in the middle of nowhere and dance like fools til the sun came up. Incredible.
Mobile phones were rare then and all communication was done via pirate radio stations who would play Hardcore Techno and in between "shouts out" announce which exit to meet at.

Was glad to be a part of it then, now i'm happy its over

It all got destroyed by the British authorities and the introduction of the "criminal justice bill" which enabled police to break up an "unauthorised" gathering of 9 or more people who were listening to electronic music.

EDIT: Few years later we walked to this.....http://www.greenleft.org.au/1994/164/8616 a year after that i left.

I actually had this one on tape around 94, listened to it a zillion times. One night on youtube recently I came across it again. Wow, visuals 15 years later! Then I found absolutely anything I searched for in the way of early 90's techno.

Plugged youtube into the telly and make playlists for ad-hoc parties.

Oooh, mandlebrot set (massive! massive!):

Keith the Prodigy dancer when he was just a seizure inducing harlequin.

Personal fave:

No, I don't listen to this stuff anymore. My heart couldn't take it.
