Would be interesting to have a karma score as part of our member profiles, based on the average of red and green thumbs received.

or even better, people can just stop posting all together and go about leaving a trail of red thumbs so they can forfill their addiction of quietly sitting on the other side of the monitor mastarbating to the arousal they've gained by red thumbing people.

If Gestalt keeps posting stuff at this rapidfire rate he will beat you Poor Rellie to 7000 posts and become the 'Posting King' of Seabreeze. Respect and wonderment from fellow seabreezians may follow!

Then Gestalt can claim the prize:

nom nom nom nom.

there's no projection. my posts were a response to the red thumb masterbaters across the forums and this thread was specific to that ........

it was not aimed at you ken or pr etc, but the red thumbers. the titles of the songs and specific lines in the lyrics were a sarcastic response. posted because of the message they contain or as a reflection of the negative creep on the forums.

what was devised to stop arguments within the forums has become the tool of the tools! the contemporary troll on seabreeze can now remain faceless and unaccountable and just go about their spineless narcissism.

I don't understand the beef with the thumbs.
They don't actually, really, in true life, mean anything.
A potential **** buddy 'aint gonna deny you gratification based on red thumbs, a potential boss aint gonna dismiss your application for that dream job 'cause you got red thumbed.
The less you look at them the less they exist

I wouldn't worry about it.
More important things to worry about could be avoiding stepping in dog sh!t for instance.

But seeing as they mean something to you Gestalt i'm going to green thumb every post i see of yours - from now on.

I didn't click the links. I was just having a wee joke, punning on the band name.
Don't pay any attention to thumbs meself, I could have a brazillion of em for all I know or care.
No-one forces anyone to read to contribute to a forum, and it bewilders me when people rant about what people do or say on forums. I've heard a bit of that recently, and I have to admit, I stood up and said I fitted the exact profile that was being dissed.
I'll tell the story next time I see you. It's somewhat amusing.

a kind offer pr, but i'm not searching for positive reinforcement.

i don't care for the thumbs system either red or green. it seems pointless other than the caption comps and is in my opinion just beeing abused.

oliver,

i don't get racism either but it still exists in these forums.

if you look across the board you will see people being red thumbed for no reason. it's not just me it's numerous people. someone may post a review about a board or a sail, then they get hammered. there is no justification for the hammering, there is no right of reply to the thumbs as it's never stated whyut. or another example where people, and again, not just me, get continual red thumbs for no reason. they could post that they had a great day and for that get a red thumb. that is hardly encouraging. usually those people that get that treatment just stop visiting the forums.

in the end an online forum is a discussion site.

although erland and the are all quality musos the drummer really stands out to me. he has complex jazz rythms down pat.

I like the thumbs because some people get so worked up about them and will rant and rant about them. I like the polyphornic spree - I was lucky enough to see them one night about 4 years ago. Still don't get this thread though.

I'm feeling a little melancholy right now and as this is a video clip thread I thought I'd share how I'm feeling - doesn't it warm your heart. Beautiful

I was impressed by how many instruments there were playing, yet no-one was stepping on anyone else, and there was still sonic space.
The drummer (percussionist) was really skilled, that was easy to see.
And playing in a church, sonic heaven.
