we are getting prices at the moment for a trip to Europe and one that the travel agents suggested was southern china air.
does anybody have any experience with them
they are so much cheaper than Quantas we cant afford to ignore their prices

no issues with china southern . i fly back to china often with them . **** you can't do any worse than qantas for international travel :)

Where are you planning to go landyacht .

China southern fly direct from guangzhou to perth .

Just be careful though and select a flight out of perth on a monday, wednesday or friday and those are the three days direct into china otherwise you go via melbourne .

Also remeber when flying back to perth make sure you leave guangzhou on a sunday tuesday or thursday otherwise again you wont get the return direct flight to perth .

I think they are the mob that train their pilots in Merredin!

Recently flew with China Southern between Hong Kong and Kunming, Kunming and Wenshan, and Kunming and Shangrila. No troubles either. Smooth as in China...

We flew with them Beijing ==> Xian & back for a day trip last September. Was biggest Chinese public holiday. Total chaos both ends, as expected, but overall fine.

Great - no freefall/turbulance horror stories or bits dropping off.
thanks

because it's got china in its name you automatically assume **** is going to start falling to pieces?

Remind me again which major airlines have been having mid-air issues lately ?
