Not my lucky year with new equipment operating as expected...

Having a chat on the beach today after a light wind down winder to Scarbs. Saw a girl in trouble. Dropped my stuff [bar / board], ran to catch her kite. All good.

Got back to the beach, and my chicken loop is open. Thought the boys were playing games, but on closer inspection the new QR of the SS has lost the tiny metal "T" piece that keeps the chicken loop locked in.

What the heck? I have never even ever pulled my safety (other than in the house when I got the bar to see how the new system works)

Anyone else seen this / interim solution? I'll submit a warranty claim to get it sorted, just bummed that such a critical piece of equipment can fail like that! + I don't have a short bar for the good looking wind tomorrow. Only positive outcome was that I was downwind already!

3 photo's of where the Pin used to be. Looks like the pin just "fell out". No obvious signs of damage or wear and tear....

Aarrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

Mate, might be time to go German and get some Core's
Hopefully the SS warranty process is a quicker one then their feedback for potential design problems.

PS: Did you get the phone number of the girl whose 'life' you saved that resulted in damaged equipment??
