The 2011 WAKSA - Airush Course Racing Series commences today - it's certainly a light wind day but so long as there's at least 10 knots, we have a race.
Melville Beach, 1.00pm. Come on down with your big kites and try out the Airush Sector boards courtesy of Airush & Airborne Kiteboarding.
If we need to change location due to wind direction, that call will be made at Melville this afternoon.
25 people turned up, Ian & Damo from Airrush had at least 10 race boards & heaps of race kites, wind filled in to 10 to 15 knots we got set up and most had a bit of a test run, a lucky few were powered up me included, the boyz set the coarse, a short triangle version because of light winds, and then the wind dropped off totally.... ahhh No racing done. Ian got plenty of photos of gear to use.
Almost an amazing arvo, lots of toys to try, new faces and I'm sure day 2 will be killer. Thanks to Ian & Damo etc from Airrush very organised & professional, and Mark the race CEO.
Thanks to everyone for coming down.
It was a good day at the beach even if the action on the water didn't last as long as we had hoped for. It was still good getting all of the Race head kitters in one place at one time. If the wind had come in i think we would have had some great racing!
There was lots of talk about an informal training session before the next race day (which is Sunday 13th Nov @ Melville again) If anyone is still keen for this then give me a call at the shop and we can see what we can sort out.
Almost forgot to mention someone left a harness on the grass area.So if anyone knows who it was then let them know that we have it here at Airborne in Osborne Park and that we drink beer
There was also a pair of Crocs on the grass. don't know if they were forgotten or abandoned tho
