Waveslave....Where are your mod pics please???

You cant bang on for years of the dangers of safety leashes and that there is a better option?
And then not let anyone know how you mod your gear to do it?????

Slave it seems strange why you have such a strong opinion on the "Death Leash" topic when in previous topics you say youve never lost a kite,i would of thought you must of had at least one near death experience and of punched out totally to save yourself to post the way you do,i also would love to see your setup, with the close at hand system you use instead of a "Safty Leash",Also i dont think there is any such thing as a controlled panic release,i have been in quite a few situations where you did have time to pick an option but also in situations where there was just no chance other than punching out totally.
Then theres the following situations that would require punching out to the safty,to get control of the kite.
Snapped chicken loop
Snapped steering line
snapped centre line
Snapped centre depower line.
Snapped bridal line.
Usually any of the above will make the kite react so fast that unless your system is directly attached to your wrists you wouldnt have a chance to react fast enough.

^^^Waveslave will post his pics soon which will explain all, he's system sounds interesting.A few of us down the beach the other day were talking about it and are all keen to see the pics of his mods on his safety system.
ie..the flag line handels right next to his hand on the bar ....might be a step forward in safety,,,,,that could benifit us all.

Come on Waveslave, enlighten me, show us all how you do it. You chastised me previously on this thread telling me this thread is all about safety, it's about time you showed us all (including the newbies reading this) the elusive foolproof method you have in the interest of safety!!!!!

Sorry, no pics.
I already told you that.
Can't you read ?
My job on the forum at the moment is to initiate discussion on how to improve the current death-leash.
Hence my recent posts about anti-wrap death-leashes, anti-wrap bar-ends and anti-deathdrag concepts and other stuff I can't remember.
lol.
Unfortunately, the death-leash seems to be a necessary evil and it's not going away.
Unhooked flatwater bandits need them cause they fall on 99% of their tricks.
But for me who never unhooks and is fully mod-ed out, I don't need a tether.
So for the rest of the crew, you need to improve this third-rate kite management system.

so your not going to show us your mods that can make us kite safer if we dont unhook????
You start a thread about safety, bag out safety leashes and say you have a better option for those who never unhook,,
but wont show it?
come on slave,,,you are back peddeling big time now,,,,ha,ha LOL

Yeah, you did say no pic's, but why

You don't you have a camera?
Is you equipment not readily available?
You don't know how to upload your photo's?

I suspect.....

You don't want to leave yourself open to criticism????

Hey, if you guys click the 'photos' link at the top of this page there are lots of pictures of the system that is safe to the user and doesn't cause distress to other beach users.

Why not try this system next time you are out ?

Here is a random example in case you couldn't see any : (apologies to the owner of the photo, it came up at random) :

Thanks for your help

You're welcome, it's really nothing. ^^^
Hey, I've given you a bunch of tips, some good ideas, you don't need photos.
Use your brains, work it out.
Why don't you ring Mr North or Mr Cabrinha or that other guy and ask them to fix the problem ?
It's not really my responsibility, you know.
I'm just a humble hobbyist.

Ok im buying in coz of plantagenents 2010 wild riesling, mmmmm

I have seen slaves system "like alot of you have" and for those with an interest it is designed on the principal that if you have to let go of the bar you are left with two oh **** handles as flagging lines, if everything is still custard you can jus let go.

Slave could improve his system by engineering out the re grip required to reach to close at hand flag lines at the bar ends, which is almost as impossible as re engineering a leash to be long enough ...to back up an oh **** handle flag line. which are despicably far away on most kites.

If ive got a kite looping on a flaged oh **** handle would i not be able to let go and use the instant of panic to hit a quick release leash thus avoiding the death leash drag and enjoying the leashes benefits in not so hazardous moments. If I could only reach the oh **** handle and it pull enough line in to be useful..before a leash takes weight.

im no guru so burn me a will.... but man! i normally hate riesling dude!

Lol how many times you used this system slave. O **** handles are far from ideal, can still have a lot of power in the kite, at least if your half baked idea goes awry you can just ditch the lot, too bad for those downwind lol.

^^^I don't know, the o-**** handles on the ozone instinct kites were part of the flag out system, flagging the whole kite on to one line.I've never actually had to use it yet, but I imagine it would kill the power pretty well.

The OS/safety on the ozone bar in my view is a very well thought out system, personally I'd like to mod the safety on my bar to be the same or similar.
