I am heading to Cape york in August and will be kiting Port Douglas and Cape Flattery.

Has anyone kited further north ? Places like Chilli Beach or Captain Billys Landing ?

From photos, both places look to have sandy beaches with on shore trade winds.
We will be spending a couple of nights in each location (and many others).

Does anybody have any first hand knowledge of Chilli Beach and/or Captain Billy's Landing ?

Thanks in advance

If you are going to be trying some new moves perhaps take a first aid kit and some spare pints of blood.
Things with feet and things with fins that live in the water have big teeth up that way.

this is chilli beach. awesome spot. very scenic, great beach, flat water, solid wind. islands and stuff to kite around. there's an estuary a few k's south, so dragging back to your board seems to take forever. ranger i was chatting with said he hadn't seen anyone kiting there before and wasn't sure if it was 'allowed'. rules are made to be tested.

cptn billies likewise.

didnt get out to flattery but looks good.

also somerset beach on the eastern tip of the cape is somewhere to really tear it up.
