Ok Guys here is a copy of the programme for the classic this year.As you can see there is an action packed weekend comming up.Oh and dont forget about the BBQ for kiting competitors over saturday and sunday. Here is a link from the Gladstone Observer about the event as well.http://www.gladstoneobserver.com.au/localsport/storydisplay.cfm?storyid=3764321&thesection=localsport&thesubsection=&thesecondsubsection=
Its certainly getting bigger each year.Friday will be HUUUGGGEEE and Saturday's relay will be intersting to say the least.
Have pools and a winch.thought you guys could ollie from one pool to the other and that would be enough to keep you all happy hahah all jokes josh yeah we have one rail that will be ok into the finishing pool but putting another one together tomorrow thinking more along the lines of a rainbow silder but we will see how we go.And the winch comp is/will be on Friday.
wat if we build something else? say an a frame? so u can acually jib on it insead of just trying to make it over the thing? id be happy to build something.
I have been following a bit of the winch scene and it would be good to see some kind of box, lessons learnt from the pro winch tour, many injuries to seasoned riders hitting rails that where either to steep or too small width wise. Boys were falling off and hitting pavement!
They now use boxes with easy on and off, allows for greater photo's etc as riders get comfortable very quickly and start uping the trick level, making it more of a spectacle over just a traverse
yeah thats wat a few of us have in mind. were thinking of a nice loooong meeellloooow a frame about knee to hip high so its not real big but bigtime mellow and real long. pretty dam wide too so u should be able to tech out on it. all made out of rectangular box section.
yeah that is the snizzit. Even the Core crew over WA learnt a valuable lesson in their rail Jam. The weekend prior to actual event they tested some of the rails and found that only the super tech guys could manage just a simple 50/50. So they changed things, made them all about 40cm and greater wide and reduced the up ramp by heaps. leaving kickers and rails that all riders could hit no matter what level and the good guys really blew up making for **** hot photo' and film
deffiently needs to be mellow and wide. having a slider jib that you can only just make 50/50 is no fun.
lol yeh sounds like its gunna be a random jib maybe someone should have a look at a couple of wake mags and see what set up they have at their events. they seem to work and if the slider doesnt look like them i foresee trouble peace
Yeah I like the idea of something with a little width so you can press it easier makes it easier to style and not concentrate on balance..
I mean our boards are nearly twice as wide as a skate board, and about ten times the width of what the roller bladers slide on so I guess our rail needs to be super wide? We are pussie's compared to the other sports :-)
