I posted this on the strapped/unstrapped thread, so some may have already seen it. I've since had a couple ppl PM me saying it's worthy of starting a new topic. So here it is, just basic movie maker editing, no jet ski's or helicopters involved or professional videographers. Just a few friends taking 15 mins each out of a 5-6 hour session to capture a couple of waves.

For obvious reasons I won't say where it is, if you know where it is then please refrain from big noting yourself and show some respect to the locals.

From my experience those that put in the effort and commitment to explore deserve and will be rewarded.

Happy kiting

To everyone in WA, the rest of Australia will be visiting or moving next summer.

Fortunate for some, unfortunate for others - those waves are very hard to find.

I have lived here all my life and have a idea where they are, but could not take you straight there.

And guess what, the waves are not like that all the time, as we just don't get that consistant size swell through the summer when it's windy. - that was definatley a good day.

But hey, come over and check it out anyway.

That place blows slightly cross offshore and on the inside it can get megga gusty with a kite dropping in a second , going strapless on a big day would send most riders onto the reef cause that's the way the rips flows along with the wind .

The gear used has to sometimes meet the conditions, the guys in the video without doubt where ripping it up, but what it doesn't show was the local rider that ripped the hardest IMHO on his 05 c kite, so it ain't all about the gear As the industry and forums try to ram down peoples throats. sometimes its a little more about the riders ability and the conditions to suit the style.

Hey Andrew, just taking the piss....but would like to see strapless there, just wear a leash. If you go down big, you lose the board anyway.

Wanted to make it down there this year, but body stuffed, maybe next year. I still have fond memories of our time with y'all down there.

In the video Michael was riding strapless as that's his only option for boards. Me and Jason were strapped, I don't see any point in going strapless when 50% of the waves where shuting down, personally I would get frustrated. The next day the swell was perfect for the spot and was peeling, so I went strapless and it was equal to my best day in the waves. Later the wind picked up 5 Knots so instead of changing my kite I just changed my board, to easy.

Never seen a local at this spot the times I've been there, the poley's mentioned there is one though. Lucky guy.

Also I didn't realise ppl ride strapless without a leash, that's asking for trouble.

Thanks for all the positive comments

Not game enough to kite this place myself as I don't want to end up out at sea for sharky bait if something goes wrong or on the reaf but have been with the local and locals sometime's when they have been there carving up the waves!!!
